1. Field of Invention
The present invention relates to a textile. More particularly, the present invention relates to a quick drying textile.
2. Description of Related Art
Textile products for use in the clothing industry and the processes for their manufacture are developing rapidly. Consumers expect clothing to keep on improving in various aspects, including comfort, functionality, appearance, and cost. Therefore, the production of textiles that are comfortable and that have certain functionalities is the trend of the textile industry.
Consumers favor comfortable and functional clothing. Pure cotton fibers generally have better absorbency, but after absorbing moisture they may stick to the skin, such that the wearer may feel uncomfortable. Therefore, there is a need to produce a moisture management textile that could dry quickly, that would be dry and comfortable to wear, and that would be pleasing to the touch.
The present disclosure provides a duel-layer textile that can dry quickly and provide comfortable wearing experience.
An aspect of the invention provides a quick drying textile. The quick drying textile includes a composite fabric layer and a moisture absorbing fabric layer. The composite fabric layer includes a plurality of hydrophobic regions and a plurality of hydrophilic regions. The moisture absorbing fabric layer is combined with the composite fabric layer, whereby moisture is collected in the hydrophilic regions and is absorbed by the moisture absorbing fabric layer for vaporization.
In one or more embodiments of the invention, an area ratio of the hydrophobic regions to the composite fabric layer is greater than that of the hydrophilic regions to the composite fabric layer.
In one or more embodiments of the invention, an area ratio of the hydrophobic regions to the hydrophilic regions is in a range from about 2 to about 9.
In one or more embodiments of the invention, the hydrophobic regions or the hydrophilic regions are jacquard patterns.
In one or more embodiments of the invention, a thickness of the moisture absorbing fabric layer is in a range from about 0.2 mm to about 1.0 mm, and a thickness of the composite fabric layer s in a range from about 0.2 mm to about 0.6 mm.
In one or more embodiments of the invention, the hydrophilic regions and the moisture absorbing fabric layer are made of hydrophilic yarn.
Another aspect of the invention provides a clothing made of the quick drying textile, wherein the composite fabric layer is at an inner side of the clothing, and the moisture absorbing fabric layer is at an outer side of the clothing.
Yet another aspect of the invention provides a method for fabricating a quick drying textile. The method includes jacquard weaving a hydrophilic yarn with a hydrophobic yarn to form a dual-layer textile including a moisture absorbing fabric layer and a composite fabric layer combined with the moisture absorbing fabric layer, wherein the composite fabric layer comprises a plurality of hydrophobic regions and a plurality of hydrophilic regions, whereby moisture is collected in the hydrophilic regions and is absorbed by the moisture absorbing fabric layer for vaporization.
The sweat is restricted by the hydrophobic regions and is collected in the hydrophilic regions, and the sweat is diffused to the moisture absorbing fabric layer quickly. Therefore, the hydrophobic regions remain dry and prevent from being stuck on the skin thereby making wearer feel comfortable after sweating.
The quick drying textile provided by the invention is fabricated by jacquard weaving process, which is formed by computer controlled weaving machine. Therefore, the quick drying textile has advantages of various pattern shapes, good moisture absorbing area size controlling, fine moisture management capability, and design flexibility.
It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are by examples, and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
The patent or application file contains at least one drawing executed in color. Copies of this patent or patent application publication with color drawing(s) will be provided by Office upon request and payment of the necessary fee. The disclosure can be more fully understood by reading the following detailed description of the embodiment, with reference made to the accompanying drawings as follows.
Reference will now be made in detail to the present embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numbers are used in the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
The present disclosure provides a quick drying textile and a clothing made of the same. The quick drying textile is fabricated by a jacquard weaving process which brings much greater versatility to the weaving process. The term “Jacquard” herein is not specific or limited to any particular loom, but rather refers to the added control mechanism that automates the patterning.
The composite fabric layer 110 includes a plurality of hydrophobic regions 112 and a plurality of hydrophilic regions 114. The patterns of the hydrophobic regions 112 and the hydrophilic regions 114 can be designed by computer and weaved by machine automatically. For example, the hydrophilic regions 114 can be feather-like patterns. As described previously, the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 is basically constructed of hydrophilic yarns, and the hydrophobic regions 112 are constructed of hydrophobic yarns, thus the hydrophilic regions 114 may have better hydrophilic property compared with the hydrophobic regions 112. Therefore, when the wearer sweats during exercising, the moisture is collected in the hydrophilic regions 114, and the moisture is further absorbed by moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 and is diffused and vaporized at the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120.
The sweat (moisture) generated by the wearer goes to the clothing 200 and touches the inner side of the clothing 200. The sweat is restricted by the hydrophobic regions 112 and is collected in the hydrophilic regions 114. Because the sweat is contained in the hydrophilic regions 114 and does not enter the hydrophobic regions 112, the hydrophobic regions 112 remain dry and make wearer feel comfortable. The sweat is further absorbed by and diffused in the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120, which is arranged at the outer side of the clothing 200 where air or wind passes through, so that the sweat is vaporized at the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 quickly. The area of the hydrophobic regions 112 is greater than the area of the hydrophilic regions 114, thus the clothing 200 may not stick on the skin after the wearer sweats because of the large area of the dry hydrophobic regions 112.

More specifically, the composite fabric layer 110 is the inner layer while the moisture absorbing layer 120 is the outer layer. The sweat (moisture) is restricted by the hydrophobic regions 112, such that the hydrophobic regions 112 remain dry. The sweat (moisture) is collected and absorbed in the hydrophilic regions 114. Since both the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 and the hydrophilic regions 114 are made of hydrophilic yarn, and the hydrophilic regions 114 touch the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120, the sweat (moisture) can be diffused from the hydrophilic regions 114 to the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 by a capillary action. Therefore, the sweat (moisture) is conducted from the inner layer to the outer layer for vaporization.

The water collected by the hydrophilic regions 114 is diffused into the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120, as shown in
Dripping water on the quick drying textile simulates the situation of sweats enter the quick drying textile, no matter the sweat is at the liquid state or a gas state, the sweat is collected in the hydrophilic regions 114 and is diffused to the moisture absorbing fabric layer 120 quickly. Therefore, the hydrophobic regions 112 remain dry and prevent from being stuck on the skin thereby making wearer feel comfortable after sweating. The function of the quick drying textile is guaranteed. For example, the one-way transport capability and the overall moisture management of the quick drying textile provided by the present disclosure are in Grade 4 or better according to AATCC 195 standard.
The quick drying textile provided by the invention is fabricated by jacquard weaving process, which is formed by computer controlled weaving machine. Therefore, the quick drying textile has advantages of various pattern shapes, good moisture absorbing area size controlling, fine moisture management capability, and design flexibility.
