Claims
- 1. A method for producing a permanent magnet having a radial magnetic field that periodically changes direction, comprising:
- placing material in an azimuthally periodic radial magnetic field that flows in an outward direction; and
- placing the material in an azimuthally periodic radial magnetic field that flows in an inward direction.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein:
- the material comprises magnetically hard material.
- 3. A method of producing a permanent magnet having a radial magnetic field comprising:
- placing material in a magic sphere having an azimuthally periodic radial magnetic field that flows in an outward direction; and
- placing the material in a magic sphere having an azimuthally periodic radial magnetic field that flows in an inward direction.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein:
- the material comprises magnetically hard material.
