Claims
- 1. A method of radioimaging opioid receptors which comprises
- contacting a tissue sample containing said opiate receptors with a sufficient amount of radioimaging agent having the formula ##STR5## wherein I is selected from the group consisting of .sup.123 I and .sup.125 I; and where R is alkyl having from about 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkylloweralkyl or allyl to detect the presence of any of said opiate receptors; and
- radio detecting the presence of said opioid receptors.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein in said compound, I is .sup.123 I.
- 3. The method according to claim 1, wherein in said compound, I is .sup.125 I.
- 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein said tissue sample is detected in vitro.
- 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein said tissue sample is detected in vivo.
- 6. The method according to claim 1, wherein said radiodetection is Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography (SPECT).
- 7. A compound having the formula: ##STR6## wherein R.sup.1 is I; and R is alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkylloweralkyl or allyl.
- 8. The compound according to claim 7, ##STR7## wherein R.sup.1 is I.
