Abstract
A railway rail connecting structure is provided, which comprises a half of the pillar portion 20 and base portion 30 of a rail is eliminated at both ends of the rail to have symmetrical shapes along its length; and, more than two circular through holes 40 are formed on the face where the half portions of two ends of the rail are meet. The structure further comprises more than two pairs of bolts 2, 2′ and nuts 3, 3′ that are connected through the through holes 40.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a railway rail connecting structure which joins a rail in a symmetrical manner so as to be joined together by a simple and reliable fastening member.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Conventionally, two railway rails are connected on either side of the rail, or the connection portions of two railway rails are welded. However, if two joint plates are used, then pary parts will be required for connection, which made it costly, and when the welding method is taken, it had to be cut again at the time of disassembly.

In addition, the conventional connection method is not strong to withstand the load of the locomotives and rolling stock securely, and is very loud. Furthermore, the welding method cannot be used in the curved parts of the railway, including bridges, and tunnels. The present invention is meant to eliminate the above problems and has been described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides A railway rail connecting structure in which: a half of the pillar portion and a base portion f a rail is eliminated at both ends of the rail to have symmetrical shapes along its length; and, more than two circular through holes are formed on the face where the half portions of two ends of the rail are meet; the structure further comprises more than two pairs of bolts and nuts that are connected through said through holes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the railway rail connecting structure according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the railway rail connecting structure assembled according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention. The connecting portions of the rails R and R′ is illustrated in the drawing. FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the present invention. The ends of each of the rails R, R′ are configured to form an integrated form, namely, a whole rail when two ends are met together.

At both ends of a rail, half of the pillar portion 20 and base portion 30 are longitudinally eliminated. Since both ends of a rail have symmetrical shapes along its length, if one end meets with the end of other rail, they make a whole rail. There are circular through holes 40 on the face the half portions meet.

In addition, the ends of each of the rails are provided with head portion 10 from the end face to a certain distance along its length, and from the position where the head portion 10 ends, a cut 50 of which length is just the same of the head portion 10. Therefore, when two ends of two rails are put together, both of the head portions 10 will inserted into the cut 50.

As can be seen from FIG. 3 which is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A of FIG. 1, to make the connection of both rails firmly, the rail R and the rail R′ are directly connected to each other to connect the fastening bolts 2 and 2′ through the circular through holes 40 and 40 with the nut 3 and 3′ respectively.

The two rail connection connecting portions are more comfortable and have high safety strength and the fastening members of the two rails R and R′ do not deviate during use.

According to the present invention, instead of using separate connecting members, the ends of each of the rails are connected with interdigitized manner, and both halves of respective rails are connected by bolts and nuts, therefore, not many connection parts are required for connecting the rails.
