Claims
- 1. A rapid fire compressed air gun comprising:
- a magazine in which a plurality of projectiles may be loaded, said magazine having a first annular array of openings therethrough, and a second annular array of openings therethrough oriented concentrically with and generally between said opening of said first annular array of opening;
- indexer means for sequentially indexing said magazine openings in a firing position;
- pump means for compressing air;
- conduit means for conveying compressed air from said pump means to said magazine; and
- a sealing plate having a passage therethrough with an entry in fluid communication with said conduit means and an exit configured to sequentially overlay and seal one said opening of said first and second annular array of openings in said firing position,
- whereby the indexer means rotates the magazine so that the openings of the first array of openings and the openings of the second array of openings are alternatively sequenced in alignment with the exit of the sealing plate for firing of the projectiles.
- 2. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 1 wherein said sealing plate exit has a first opening aligned with said openings of said first annular array of openings in said firing position and a second opening aligned with said opening of said second annular array of openings in said firing position.
- 3. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 1 wherein said sealing plate exit has a single, elongated opening aligned with said first annular array of openings and said second annular array of openings in said firing position.
- 4. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 3 further comprising spring means for spring biasing said sealing plate against said magazine.
- 5. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 1 further comprising a pressure tank in fluid communication with said conduit means.
- 6. A rapid fire compressed air gun comprising;
- a magazine having a mounting plate with a center, a first set of openings extending through said mounting plate, each said first opening being aligned along a radius of a first set of radii extending from said center at a first selected distance from said center, a second set of openings extending through said mounting plate, each said second opening being aligned along a radius of a second set of radii extending from said center at a second selected distance from said center, said second selected distance being less than said first selected distance, each said radius of said second set of radii extending between two adjacent radii of said first set of radii;
- indexer means for sequentially indexing said magazine first and second openings in a firing position;
- pump means for compressing air;
- conduit means for conveying compressed air from said pump means; and
- a sealing plate having a passage therethrough with an entry in fluid communication with said conduit means and an exit in fluid communication with one said opening of said first and second openings in said firing position,
- whereby the indexer means rotates the magazine so that an opening of either the first set of openings or the second set of openings is overlayed by the sealing plate for conveying compressed air so thereto.
- 7. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 6 wherein said sealing plate exit has a first opening aligned with said openings of said first set of openings in said firing position and a second opening aligned with said opening of said second set of openings in said firing position.
- 8. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 6 wherein said sealing plate exit has a single, elongated opening alignable with said first set of openings and said second set of openings.
- 9. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 8 further comprising spring means for spring biasing said sealing plate against said magazine.
- 10. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 6 further comprising a pressure tank in fluid communication with said conduit means.
- 11. A rapid fire compressed air gun comprising:
- a magazine in which a plurality of projectiles may be loaded, said magazine have a set of openings arranged in a staggered annular array;
- indexer means for sequentially indexing said magazine openings in a firing position;
- pump means for compressing air;
- conduit means for conveying compressed air from said pump means to said magazine; and
- a sealing plate having a passage therethrough with an entry in fluid communication with said conduit means and an exit in sequential fluid communication with one said opening of said staggered annular array of openings in said firing position,
- whereby the indexer rotates the magazine so that the staggered annular array of openings are sequentially aligned with said sealing plate for firing.
- 12. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 11 wherein said sealing plate exit has a first opening aligned to be in fluid communication with a portion of said set of openings in said firing position and a second opening aligned to be in fluid communication with another portion of said set of openings in said firing position.
- 13. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 11 wherein said sealing plate exit has a single, elongated opening configured to be in sequential fluid communication with said portion and said other portion of said set of openings in said firing position.
- 14. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 13 further comprising spring means for spring biasing said sealing plate against said magazine.
- 15. The rapid fire compressed air gun of claim 11 further comprising a pressure tank in fluid communication with said conduit means.
