Claims
- 1. An optical element comprising:
a first polymer matrix; a modifying composition dispersed therein, said MC capable of stimulus-induced polymerization; a blend of stimulus absorber and stimulus initiator wherein said blend delays the initiation of polymerization until a predetermined level of intensity of stimulus is reached.
- 2. The optical element of claim 1 wherein said stimulus is light.
- 3. The optical element of claim 2 wherein said stimulus absorber is a light-absorbing compound and said stimulus initiator is a photoinitiator.
- 4. The optical element of claim 1 wherein said element is an intraocular lens.
- 5. The optical element of claim 1 wherein said optical element is a contact lens.
- 6. The optical element of claim 3 wherein said optical element is a spectacle lens.
- 7. The optical element of claim 3 wherein said photoabsorber and said photoinitiator is a UV initiator.
