- (a) N-acetylating L-thyroxine to form .alpha.-N-acetyl L-thyroxine;
- (b) conjugating the .alpha.N-acetyl L-thyroxine to 6-aminocaproic acid to form a L-thyroxine conjugate; and
- (c) conjugating the L-thyroxine conjugate of step (b) to bovine serum albumin.
