Claims
- 1. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye, comprising:
a. a liquid retaining layer; and b. a dye screening layer which is formed over said liquid retaining layer.
- 2. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye, comprising:
a. a liquid retaining layer for absorbing and retaining a liquid carrier which is contained in a liquid ink; and b. a porous dye screening membrane which is formed over said liquid retaining layer having a pore size which retains solid dye particles within said porous membrane and which allows a liquid to pass through to said absorptive layer.
- 3. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye, as described in claim 1, further comprising a feathering control layer which is formed over said dye screening layer.
- 4. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye, as described in claim 2, further comprising a non porous and non absorptive feathering control layer which is formed over said porous dye screening membrane and which has a pore size which is sufficient to allow liquid ink comprising a dye to pass through.
- 5. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 1, further comprising a permeation control layer having a membrane which is substantially impermeable to gases and is substantially permeable to liquids, wherein said permeation control layer is formed over said liquid retaining layer, and said dye screening layer is formed over said permeation control layer.
- 6. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 2, further comprising a permeation control layer having a membrane which is substantially impermeable to gases and is substantially permeable to liquids, wherein said permeation control layer is formed over said liquid retaining layer, and said porous dye screening membrane is formed over said permeation control layer.
- 7. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 3, further comprising a permeation control layer having a membrane which is substantially impermeable to gases and is substantially permeable to liquids, wherein said permeation control layer is formed over said liquid retaining layer, and said dye screening layer is formed over said permeation control layer.
- 8. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 4, further comprising a permeation control layer having a membrane which is substantially impermeable to gases and is substantially permeable to liquids, wherein said permeation control layer is formed over said liquid retaining layer, and said porous dye screening membrane is formed over said permeation control layer.
- 9. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 1, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 10. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 2, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 11. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 3, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 12. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 4, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 13. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 5, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 14. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 6, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 15. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 7, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
- 16. A receiving and transfer media for use with liquid ink comprising heat activated dye as described in claim 8, wherein said dye screening layer further comprises a material which exotherms upon the application of heat.
