This invention relates to storage compartments and drawers, more particularly, a drawer having a housing which is designed to be mounted between two studs in a wall so that the drawer is recessed in the wall and the face of the drawer is flush with the wall.
Additional storage space is always at a premium especially in smaller houses and condos where livable space is limited. The interiors of walls are the most underutilized areas in a home. Currently, the only devices which take advantage of the interiors of walls for storage are medicine cabinets. However, medicine cabinets are often too large to install at different locations around the home and/or the doors on medicine cabinets limit the locations where medicine cabinets may be installed around a home because of the way the doors open.
Thus, a need exists for an alternative method of storage that provides a maximum amount of storage space while occupying the least amount of livable space by utilizing the interior space of a wall and making this otherwise unusable space usable.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a recessed wall drawer which may be mounted between two wall studs.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a recessed wall drawer which may be mounted in new construction.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a recessed wall drawer which provides additional storage space by utilizing the interior space of a wall.
The present invention fulfills the above and other objects by providing a recessed wall drawer having a housing which fits inside a wall and is mounted between two studs. The recessed wall drawer may be installed in new construction or in preexisting walls simply by cutting out a section of drywall between two studs at a desired location, securing the housing between two studs with fasteners such as screws and inserting the drawer into the housing. The drawer may be mounted in the housing via slides, which allow a user to open the drawer by sliding the drawer either slidably or by tilting outward from the housing, or by pivot points or hinges, which allow a user the open the drawer by tilting the drawer outward from the housing. The drawer may be installed and used anywhere in a home such as in a bathrooms kitchen, bedroom and so forth. In addition, multiple drawers may be installed on top of each other and/or next to each other to create a bank of drawers.
