- said valve body having opposite end portions and a bore extending between said end portions;
- said ball member rotatably mounted in said bore and having a passage extending therethrough, said ball member operable to be selectively rotated to permit and prevent flow of paint through said passage; and
- said bearing and seal assembly substantially encapsulating said ball member, said bearing and seal assembly operable to form a substantially void free seal about said ball member, wherein accumulation of paint between said ball member and said valve body is substantially eliminated.
- 2. The paint supply system as defined in claim 1 wherein said bearing and seal assembly includes a pair of cup members each having end faces which are axially abutted with one another.
- 3. The paint supply system as defined in claim 2 wherein each of said cup members has a peripheral wall dimensioned to engage and form a fluid seal with a wall of said bore and a pair of endwalls, each endwall having a central aperture, said apertures and said passage being adapted to align with one another whereby to pass paint through said bore when said ball member is in a first position and adapted to be nonaligned with one another whereby to prevent paint to pass through said bore when said ball member is in a second position.
- 4. A paint supply system for delivering paint to an object, said paint supply system comprising:
- a paint source; and
- a valve member in fluid communication with said paint source, said valve member including a valve body, a ball member and a flow regulator means;
- said valve body having a first end portion and a second end portion with a bore passing through said first and second end portions, and
- said flow regulator means at least partially positioned within said bore for permitting and preventing flow of paint through said bore, said flow regulator means including a bearing and seal assembly substantially encapsulating said ball member, wherein said flow regulator means is operable to substantially inhibit an accumulation of paint between said flow regulator means and said bore.
- 5. The paint supply system as defined in claim 4 wherein a portion of said bore in said valve body is internally threaded.
- 6. The paint supply system as defined in claim 4 wherein said valve body is formed from a polymeric material.
- 7. The paint supply system as defined in claim 4 wherein said ball member is rotatably mounted in said bore and has a passage extending therethrough.
- 8. The paint supply system as defined in claim 4 wherein said bearing and seal assembly includes a pair of cylindrical cup-shaped valve seats adapted to substantially encapsulate said ball member.
- 9. The paint supply system as defined in claim 4 wherein said valve body further includes a first end fitting threadably engaged with said bore and extending from said first end portion and a second end fitting threadably engaged with said bore and extending from said second end portion.
- 10. A paint supply system for delivering paint to an object, said paint supply system comprising:
- a paint source; and
- a valve member fluidly communicating with said paint source, said valve member including a valve body, a ball member, and a pair of cup members;
- said valve body having opposite end portions and a bore extending between said end portions,
- said ball member rotatably mounted in said bore and having a passage extending therethrough, said ball member operable to be selectively rotated to permit and prevent flow of paint through said passage and said bore, and
- each of said cup members has an end face which is axially abutted with one another to substantially encapsulate and form a substantially void-free seal about said ball member.
- 11. The paint supply system as defined in claim 10 wherein said valve body is formed from a polymeric material.
- 12. The paint supply system as defined in claim 10 wherein said ball member includes a means for selectively rotating said ball member, said means for selectively rotating passing through a portion of said valve body and including means for sealing said means for rotating said ball member.
- 13. The paint supply as defined in claim 10 further comprising a pressurized conduit in fluid communication with said valve member.
- 14. The paint supply system as defined in claim 13 further comprising a helical coil sheath operable to encircle a portion of said pressurized conduit.
- 15. A paint supply system for delivering paint to an object, said paint supply system comprising:
- a paint source;
- a valve member fluidly communicating with said paint source, said valve member including a valve body, a ball member, and an encapsulation assembly;
- said valve body having opposite end portions and a bore extending between said end portions,
- said ball member rotatably mounted in said bore and having a passage extending therethrough, said ball member operable to be selectively rotated to permit and prevent flow of paint through said passage and said bore, and
- said encapsulation assembly being operable to substantially encapsulate said ball member;
- a pressurized conduit in fluid communication with said valve member; and
- a swivel fluid connector in fluid communication with said pressurized conduit.
- 16. The paint supply system as defined in claim 13 further comprising a filter fluid connector in fluid communication with said pressurized conduit.
- 17. The paint supply system as defined in claim 13 further comprising a restrictor fluid connector in fluid communication with said pressurized conduit.
- 18. The paint system as defined in claim 13 further comprising a quick-disconnect connector in fluid communication with said pressurized conduit.
- 19. A paint supply system for delivering paint to an object, said paint supply system comprising:
- a paint source;
- a valve member fluidly communicating with said paint source, said valve member including a valve body, a ball member, and an encapsulation assembly;
- said valve body having opposite end portions and a bore extending between said end portions,
- said ball member rotatably mounted in said bore and having a passage extending therethrough, said ball member operable to be selectively rotated to permit and prevent flow of paint through said passage and said bore, and
