The present invention relates to a recliner.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,186,518 discloses a conventional recliner. This conventional recliner is however very complicated in structure. This complicated structure includes many parts and eventually entails a very high cost. Moreover, this complicated structure is bulky and heavy. The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.
It is an objective of the present invention to provide a recliner with a backrest that can be moved to any desired position within a range.
It is an objective of the present invention to provide a recliner with a stool that can be moved to any desired position within a range.
It is another objective of the present invention to provide a recliner that is simple in structure.
According to the present invention, a recliner includes two frames, a backrest frame pivotally attached to the frames, a stool frame pivotally attached to the frames, a link connected between the backrest frame and the stool frame and a hydraulic cylinder connected between one of the frames and the backrest frame.

Each frame 20 includes an upper member used as an armrest and a lower member used as a foot. The frames 20 are preferably made of wood in consideration of weight. A beam 21 is attached to each frame 20. The beams 21 are preferably made of metal in consideration of strength. A plurality of springs 22 is connected between the frames 20 in order to support a seat (not shown). A crossbar 23 is connected between the frames 20.
The backrest frame 30 includes two links 31 and two crossbars 32 connected between the links 31. Each link 31 is pivotally attached to corresponding one of the beams 21. The pivotal of the links 31 are limited by means of the crossbar 23. Each link 31 includes an upper section and a lower section. Although not shown, a backrest plate is attached to the upper sections of the links 31, and sponge is attached to the backrest plate.
The stool frame 40 includes two links 41. Each link 41 includes an upper section and a lower section. The lower section of each link 41 is pivotally attached to corresponding one of the frames 20.
Each link 50 is connected between the lower section of one of the links 31 and the lower section of corresponding one of the links 41. Although not shown, a stool plate is attached to the links 41, and sponge is attached to the stool plate.
The hydraulic cylinder 60 includes an end attached to one of the frames 20 and an opposite end attached to the lower section of one of the links 31. The hydraulic cylinder 60 includes a lever 61 for the control thereof. The lever 61 can be pivoted between a first position as shown in
