Abstract
Genes coding for novel Group B Eimeria tenella protein immunogens have been isolated and inserted into a novel expression vector which in turn has been used to transform appropriate hosts. The transformed host cells produce recombinant Group B E. tenella proteins which are capable of inducing immunity in chickens to coccidiosis.
Description
Claims
  • 1. A recombinant DNA molecule having a nucleotide sequence encoding an amino acid sequence of the Group B immunogen SO7 depicted in Table 8.
  • 2. The recombinant DNA molecule of claim 1 wherein the nucleotide sequence is the nucleotide sequence of clone SO7 depicted in Table 8.
  • 3. An immunogenic composition comprising the DNA of claim 1.
  • 4. A method of immunizing poultry against E. tenella induced coccidiosis comprising administering an therapeutically effective dose of the composition of claim 3.
