Claims
- 1. A reproducing apparatus for reproducing information of an optical disk provided with a main information area in which data information is recordable in a recording layer of a groove having a wobble such that said data information is readable using a light, a control data area located at an inner periphery side with respect to said main information area, and a sub information area, wherein in said control data area, other information including first physical format information has been previously recorded at a predetermined position instead of key information used to decipher the data information, said sub information area being configured to store second physical format information with an information structure which differs from an information structure of said control data area, comprisinga pickup that reads recorded signals from said optical disk; a first controller that controls a movement of said pickup; and a second controller that performs a reproducing operation of said data information recorded to said optical disk, wherein said second controller reproduces the second physical format information from said sub information area.
- 2. The reproducing apparatus of claim 1 wherein said different information structures comprise a different arrangement of physical format information.
- 3. The reproducing apparatus of claim 1, wherein said key information is omitted from said sub information area.
- 4. The reproducing apparatus of claim 1, wherein disk manufacturing information is recorded in said control data area and said sub information area.
- 5. The reproducing apparatus of claim 4, wherein said arrangement of said disk manufacturing information and said physical format information differs in said control data area and said sub information area.
- 6. A reproducing apparatus for a recordable optical disk having a main information area in which data information is recordable in a recording layer of a groove having a wobble such that said data information is readable using a light, a control data area located at an inner periphery side with respect to said main information area, and a sub information area, wherein in said control data area, other information including first physical format information has been previously recorded at a predetermined position instead of key information used to decipher the data information, and wherein in said sub information area, second physical format information is storable, an information structure of said sub information area being different from an information structure of said control data area, said reproducing apparatus comprising:a detector that detects said sub information area; and a reader that reads the second physical format information from said sub information area.
- 7. The reproducing apparatus of claim 6, wherein said different information structures comprise a different arrangement of physical format information.
- 8. The reproducing apparatus of claim 6, wherein said previously recorded other information in said control data area is permanent.
- 9. The reproducing apparatus of claim 6, wherein key information is not included in said sub information area.
- 10. The reproducing apparatus of claim 6, wherein disk manufacturing information is recorded in said control data area and said sub information area.
- 11. The reproducing apparatus of claim 10, wherein said disk manufacturing information and said physical format information in said control data area differs from said disk manufacturing information and said physical format information in sub information area.
- 12. A reproducing method for a recordable optical disk having a main information area in which data information is recordable in a recording layer of a groove having a wobble such that the data information is readable using a light, a control data area located at an inner periphery side with respect to the main information area, and a sub information area, wherein in the control data area, other information including first physical format information has been previously recorded at a predetermined position instead of key information used to decipher the data information, and wherein in the sub information area, second physical format information is storable, an information structure of said sub information area being different from an information structure of the control data area, the reproducing method comprising:detecting the sub information area; and reading the second physical format information from the sub information area.
- 13. The reproducing method of claim 12, wherein the different information structures comprise a different arrangement of physical format information.
- 14. The reproducing method of claim 12, wherein the previously recorded other information in the control data area is permanent.
- 15. The reproducing method of claim 12, wherein key information is not included in the sub information area.
- 16. The reproducing method of claim 15, wherein disk manufacturing information is recorded in the control data area and the sub information area.
- 17. The reproducing method of claim 16, wherein the disk manufacturing information and the physical format information in the control data area differs from the disk manufacturing information and the physical format information in the sub information area.
