Claims
- 1. A control device for a recording apparatus including, as one recording unit, a first recording mode for recording an image information as one picture and a second recording mode for recording a larger amount of image information as one picture than the image information of said first recording mode, comprising:
- a) control means for repeating said first recording mode or said second recording mode to record a predetermined number of pictures per unit of time;
- b) setting means for setting a number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time;
- c) means for discriminating whether or not the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time set by said setting means is inoperable in the second recording mode; and
- d) means for changing the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time set by said setting means, depending upon that said discriminating means discriminates the number set by said setting means being inoperable.
- 2. A device according to claim 1, wherein said information is a video signal, and said first recording mode is a field recording mode, and said second recording mode is a frame recording mode.
- 3. A device according to claim 1, wherein said changing means is arranged to set a maximum number of pictures among the number of pictures per unit of time operable at the time of changing the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time in the second recording mode.
- 4. A device according to claim 1, further comprising:
- selecting means for selecting said first recording mode and said second recording mode.
- 5. A device according to claim 4, wherein said selecting means is arranged to select either said first recording mode or said second recording mode in response to a manual operation.
- 6. A recording device according claim 1 wherein said setting means is arranged to set said number of pictures in response to a manual operation.
- 7. A method of control for a recording apparatus including, as one recording unit, a first recording mode for recording an image information as one picture and a second recording mode for recording a larger amount of image information as one picture than the image information of said first recording mode, comprising:
- a) repeating said first recording mode or said second recording mode to record a predetermined number of pictures per unit of time;
- b) setting a number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time;
- c) discriminating whether or not the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time set by said setting means is inoperable in the second recording mode; and
- d) changing the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time set in said setting step, depending upon that said discriminating step discriminates the number set by said setting step being inoperable.
- 8. A method according to claim 7, wherein said information is a video signal, and said first recording mode is a field recording mode, and said second recording mode is a frame recording mode.
- 9. A method according to claim 7, wherein said changing step sets a maximum number of pictures among the number of pictures per unit of time operable at the time of changing the number of pictures to be recorded per unit of time in the second recording mode.
- 10. A method according to claim 7, further comprising
- selecting said first recording mode and said second recording mode.
- 11. A method according to claim 10, wherein said selecting step selects either said first recording mode or said second recording mode in response to a manual operation.
