RECORDING APPARATUS

Abstract

A recording apparatus has a pair of bearings 38 having: two surfaces 38a and 38b which support both edge portions of a conveying roller 40; driven rollers 42 which press the conveying roller 40 in the direction where extension lines of the two surfaces 38a and 38b cross; and further, an intermediate bearing 47 which presses the conveying roller 40 in the direction of a point where the extension lines of the two surfaces 38a and 38b cross.

Claims

1. A recording apparatus for recording an image onto a recording sheet, comprising: a conveying roller which conveys the recording sheet in use;a pair of first bearings characterized in that each first bearing has two surfaces which contact and support the conveying roller, and which are spaced along the roller in an axial direction;a biasing means which presses the conveying roller in a first direction towards the two surfaces; andan intermediate bearing which is arranged between the pair of first bearings and supports the conveying roller,wherein the intermediate bearing also biases the conveying roller in said first direction.

2. An apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a recording head and a platen adapted to guide the recording sheet at a position where the platen faces the recording head, and wherein the intermediate bearing is positioned to the platen in the recording sheet conveying direction.

3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the intermediate bearing is arranged to an outer side than a maximum width of the recording sheet which can be conveyed.

4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a bore surface of the intermediate bearing which supports the conveying roller has a circular shape.

5. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the intermediate bearing supports the conveying roller by two surfaces.

6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein a bisector of two points of the conveying roller which come into contact with the two surfaces of the intermediate bearing is substantially parallel with a bisector of two points of the conveying roller which come into contact with two surfaces of each first bearing.

7. An apparatus according to claim 1 including a recording head, wherein the conveying roller is a roller which is arranged on a downstream side of the recording head in a conveying direction of the recording sheet.

8. An apparatus according to claim 1 including a recording head, wherein the conveying roller is a roller which is arranged on an upstream side of the recording head in a conveying direction of the recording sheet.

9. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the recording head is an ink jet recording head which records by discharging ink.

10. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the recording head is an ink jet recording head which records by discharging ink.
