- 7. The disc-shaped recording medium recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein for recording data in and after a defective sector, the defective sector substitution means skips only the defective sector, and shifts data recorded by sector unit to following sectors.
- 8. The disc-shaped recording medium recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second recording area (ASS) is contiguous to the first recording area (ADS).
- 9. A disc-shaped recording medium recording method for recording data in sector units to a disc-shaped recording medium having a structure with a plurality of recording sectors, said disc-shaped recording medium recording method characterized by:error detection and correction coding data in both row and column directions, and segmenting said coded data into sector units; recording data coded in sector units to a sector in a first recording area (ADS) of the disc-shaped recording medium; determining whether a sector is a defective sector by reproducing said sector; and recording data to be recorded to said defective sector to an alternate sector in a second recording area (ASS) provided on said disc-shaped recording medium when said sector is determined to be a defective sector.
- 10. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 9, wherein a sector is determined to be a defective sector when address information (ID) pre-recorded to said sector cannot be correctly reproduced.
- 11. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 9, wherein a sector is determined to be a defective sector by decoding only the error detection and correction code (C1), which can be decoded using only data recorded to said sector.
- 12. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 10, wherein a sector is determined to be a defective sector when data recorded to said sector cannot be correctly reproduced.
- 13. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 10, wherein for recording data in and after a defective sector, only data that should be recorded to said defective sector is recorded to an alternate sector.
- 14. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 9, wherein the second recording area (ASS) is provided separated a specific number of sectors or more from the first recording area (ADS).
- 15. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 9, wherein for recording data in and after a defective sector, the defective sector only is skipped, and data is shifted for recording by sector unit to following sectors.
- 16. The disc-shaped recording medium recording method according to claim 9, wherein the second recording area (ASS) is provided contiguously to the first recording area (ADS).
- 17. A disc-shaped recording medium for recording data in sector units to a disc-shaped recording medium having a structure with a plurality of recording sectors, said disc-shaped recording medium characterized by comprising:a first recording area (ADS) comprising a data sector for recording data that is error detection and correction coded in both row and column directions, and segmented into sector units; and a second recording area (ASS) comprising alternate recording sectors for alternately recording data recorded to a defective sector in the first recording area (ADS).
- 18. The disc-shaped recording medium according to claim 17, wherein for recording data in and after a defective sector, only data that should be recorded to said defective sector is recorded to an alternate sector.
- 19. The disc-shaped recording medium according to claim 17, wherein the second recording area (ASS) is provided separated a specific number of sectors or more from the first recording area (ADS).
- 20. The disc-shaped recording medium according to claim 17, wherein for recording data in and after a defective sector, the defective sector only is skipped, and data is shifted for recording by sector unit to following sectors.
- 21. The disc-shaped recording medium according to claim 17, wherein the second recording area (ASS) is provided contiguously to the first recording area (ADS).
- 22. An apparatus for reproducing data from a disc-shaped recording medium having a structure with a plurality of recording sectors characterized bya first recording area (ADS) comprising a data sector for recording data that is error detection and correction coded in both row and column directions, and segmented into sector units, a second recording area (ASS) comprising alternate recording sectors for alternately recording data recorded to a defective sector in the first recording area (ADS), a first address recording area (LiA, LoA) for recording sector addresses in the first area, and a second address recording area (PDL, SDL) for recording an alternate sector address corresponding to a defective sector; said disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus characterized by comprising: means for detecting a recording data sector address from said first address recording area (LiA, LoA), and detecting an alternate sector address from said second address recording area (PDL, SDL); and reproduction control means for controlling a data reader to sequentially access sectors based on the detected sector address and reproduce the recorded data.
