Claims
- 1. A method for recording signals on a recording medium of an electronic still video apparatus having an audio visual record mode for recording image signals at image data locations of the recording medium and for recording sound signals at sound data locations of the recording medium, the image signals and the sound signals being recorded to be associated with one another, the method comprising:
- receiving sound signals for up to a predetermined period of time in response to actuation of a sound receipt operation;
- receiving image signals, the received image signals being recorded as an associated image signal when an image release operation is effected, actuation of the image release operation completing the sound receipt operation; and
- recording the received sound signals as an associated sound signal at a sound data location on the recording medium associated with an image data location of the recorded received image signals, the recording of the received sound signals taking place immediately after the completion of the image release operation.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
- positioning a recorder of the electronic still video apparatus at a location for recording image signals;
- positioning the recorder at a location for recording sound signals associated with the image data location after the received image signals are recorded; and
- effecting the recording of received sound signals without the sound release operation being effected.
- 3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:
- positioning the recorder at a location for recording image signals which is not associated with the sound data location of the recorded received sound signals after the received sound signals are recorded.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the recording of signals on the recording medium comprises recording image signals and sound signals on adjacent tracks of a magnetic disk in the audio visual record mode.
- 5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
- positioning the recorder at a location for recording image signals when the audio visual record mode is initially selected.
