Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Technical Field

The present invention relates to a bag body, and more particularly to a rectangular bag.

2. Description of Related Art

Since a rectangular bag is rectangular in shape, it could easily receive items such as documents or a laptop computer, making it very versatile and thus widely used. A conventional rectangular bag is typically provided with a zipper to seal an opening of a bag body thereof. However, the opening of a bag might be left open by negligence, so the items inside the bag may fall out of the bag body. In addition, an unsealed opening would make the bag become a coveted target for thieves and burglars, which might even endanger the life and the property of the user.

Also, sometimes even when the zipper of the bag body is zipped, the zipper might be unknowingly zipped open, causing the user to suffer heavy losses.

Furthermore, the design of the bag strap and the bag body of a conventional rectangular bag available on the market usually restricts the body of the user from moving freely. Thus, in all aspects, the rectangular bag still has room for improvements.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the above, the primary objective of the present invention is to provide a rectangular bag, which provides a good anti-theft function.

To achieve the objective of the present invention, the present invention provides a rectangular bag, including a bag body, a first zipper, and a strap, wherein the bag body has a top panel, a left side panel, and a right side panel. The left side panel and the right side panel are provided on opposite sides. Two ends of the top panel are respectively connected to the left side panel and the right side panel. A first opening is provided on the left side panel. The first zipper includes a first chain and a first slider, wherein the first chain is provided on a peripheral edge of the first opening, and has a first end and a second end. The first end of the first chain is closer to the top panel than the second end thereof is. The first slider is provided on the first chain, wherein the first slider is movable along the first chain. When the first slider is located at the first end of the first chain, the first opening is sealed by the first chain; when the first slider is located at the second end of the first chain, the first opening is unsealed. An end of the strap is connected to the first slider, and another end thereof is connected to the right side panel.

With the aforementioned design, when the rectangular bag is shouldered or carried on the back, the bag body would subside relative to the strap because of the effects of gravity, pulling the first slider to move toward the first end of the first chain, whereby to seal the first opening. In addition, since the strap and the bag body should have a relative movement before unsealing the first opening, which could be done by moving the strap or the bag body before opening the zipper, the user would instantly notice the unusual feeling that a weight of the rectangular bag is changed once the strap or the bag body is pulled. Whereby, the rectangular bag could provide an anti-theft function.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

A rectangular bag 100 of a first embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, including a bag body 10, a first zipper 20, and a strap 30.

The bag body 10 has a top panel 12, a left side panel 14, and a right side panel 16, wherein the left side panel 14 and the right side panel 16 are provided on opposite sides. Two ends of the top panel 12 are respectively connected to the left side panel 14 and the right side panel 16. A first opening 140 is provided on the left side panel 14, wherein the first opening 140 communicates with a storage space of the bag body 10.

The first zipper 20 includes a first chain 22 and a first slider 24, wherein the first chain 22 are provided on a peripheral edge of the first opening 140. The first chain 22 have a first end 222 and a second end 224, wherein the first end 222 of the first chain 22 is closer to the top panel 12 than the second end 224 thereof is. The first slider 24 is provided on the first chain 22, wherein the first slider 24 is movable along the first chain 22. When the first slider 24 is located at the first end 222 of the first chain 22, the first opening 140 would be sealed by the first chain 22; when the first slider 24 is located at the second end 224 of the first chain 22, the first opening 140 would be unsealed, for the first chain 22 is opened. Whereby, items could be put into or retrieved from the storage space of the bag body 10 through the first opening 140.

An end of the strap 30 is connected to the first slider 24, while another end thereof is connected to the right side panel 16. In the first embodiment, the first slider 24 has a perforation. One end of the strap 30 is connected to a connector, which is a clasp 32 as an example, wherein the clasp 32 could be clasped with the perforation of the first slider 24. In this way, one end of the strap 30 could be detachably connected to the first slider 24 through the clasp 32. In other embodiments, the end of the strap 30 could be also detachably connected to the first slider 24 through different kinds of connectors. However, the type of the connector is not a limitation of the present invention.

When the rectangular bag 100 is shouldered or carried on the back, the bag body 10 would subside relative to the strap 30 because of the effects of gravity, pulling the first slider 24 to move toward the first end 222 of the first chain 22, whereby to seal the first opening 140. In other words, with the aforementioned design, when the rectangular bag 100 is shouldered or carried on the back, the first zipper 20 of the rectangular bag 100 could be automatically closed by gravity, which ensures the first opening 140 to be sealed.

In addition, if someone tries to pull down the first zipper 20 to unseal the first opening 140, one end of the strap 30 has to be moved from the first end 222 toward the second end 224 of the first chain 22. That means the strap 30 (or at least one end of the strap 30) and the bag body 10 should have a relative movement before unsealing the first opening 140, which could be done by moving the strap 30 or the bag body 10. In other words, a thief who tries to open the first zipper 20 would pull either the strap 30 or the bag body 10, and therefore, the user would instantly notice the unusual feeling that a weight of the rectangular bag is changed. In this way, the rectangular bag 100 could provide an anti-theft function.

It is worth mentioning that, in order to make the user move more freely when the rectangular bag 100 is shouldered or carried on the back, the rectangular bag 100 is designed as shown in FIG. 3, wherein a shortest distance between the first end 222 of the first chain 22 and an extended surface of the top panel 12 is defined as a first distance L1, and a shortest distance between the extended surface of the top panel 12 and a junction of the strap 30 and the right side panel 16 is defined as a second distance L2, satisfying the following condition: L2>L1. In addition, the bag body 10 has a bottom panel 18 provided on a side opposite to the top panel 12, wherein a shortest distance between the bottom panel 18 and a junction of the strap 30 and the right side panel 16 is defined as a third distance L3, which satisfies the following condition: L2>L3>L1. In other words, when the bag body 10 stands vertically, two ends of the strap 30 thereof are not at the same height. Whereby, the bag body 10 would not sway easily when the rectangular bag 100 is in use.

Also, a shortest distance between the top panel 12 and the bottom panel 18 is defined as a fourth distance L4, satisfying the following condition: L1≤⅕ L4. In such a condition, the first slider 24 would be closer to the top panel 12 of the bag body 10 when the strap 30 is shouldered or carried on the back, whereby to stabilize the bag body 10. Therefore, the bag body 10 would not sway easily.

Furthermore, the third distance L3 is preferable to be greater than a fifth of the fourth distance L4 without exceeding a half of the fourth distance L4, which means the third distance L3 satisfies the following condition: ⅕ L4<L3≤½ L4. By making the third distance L3 greater than a fifth of the fourth distance L4, the center of gravity of the bag body 10 would be at a lower position when the rectangular bag 100 is carried, which could prevent the bag body 10 from rotating. On the other hand, by restricting the third distance L3 from exceeding a half of the fourth distance L4, more space could be provided between the strap 30 and the bag body 10 when the rectangular bag 100 is in use, allowing more comfortable and more flexible movements.

In other words, by changing a position of the junction of the strap 30 and the bag body 10, the space surrounded by the strap 30 would be greater than that of a conventional rectangular bag, which could make the user able to move more comfortably and more flexibly without being restricted.

A rectangular bag 200 of a second embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in FIG. 4. The difference between the rectangular bag 200 of the second embodiment and that of the first embodiment is that, a second opening is provided on a bag body 210 thereof, wherein the second opening extends from a right side panel 216 to a top panel 212. The rectangular bag 200 further includes a second zipper 240, wherein the second zipper 240 includes a second chain 242 and a second slider 244. The second chain 242 are provided on the peripheral edge of the second opening, and have a first end 242a and a second end 242b. The first end 242a of the second chain 242 is located on the top panel 212, and the second end 242b of the second chain 242 is located on the right side panel 216. The second slider 244 is provided on the second chain 242, wherein the second slider 244 is movable along the second chain 242. When the second slider 244 is located at the first end 242a of the second chain 242, the second chain 242 would seal the second opening; when the second slider 244 is located at the second end 242b of the second chain 242, the second chain 242 would unseal the second opening. In addition, it is preferred to have the second opening communicating with the first opening, and a first end of the first chain 222 being connected to one end of the second chain 242. With such design, the user could freely adjust the positions of the first zipper 20 and the second zipper 240 to be able to retrieve items from the bag body 10 or to put items into the bag body 10 in a convenient and preferred way.

An end of a strap 230 of the second embodiment is also engaged with the first slider 224 as described in the first embodiment. Therefore, the first zipper 20 of the rectangular bag 200 could be also automatically closed by the effects of gravity when the rectangular bag 200 is shouldered or carried on the back. In addition, the first slider 224 would be moved to a junction of the left side panel 214 of the bag body 210 and the top panel 212 because of the effects of gravity when the rectangular bag 200 is carried. In this way, the second opening could be sealed by simply moving the second slider 244 toward the first end 242a of the second chain 242.

A rectangular bag of a third embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in FIG. 5, showing a side view of the rectangular bag in a direction perpendicular to a left side panel 314. In order to enhance the anti-theft function of the rectangular bag, the rectangular bag could further provide a first fastener 340 engaged with a second fastener 350 based on said design of the aforementioned first and second embodiments. The first fastener 340 is provided on a first slider 324, while the second fastener 350 is provided on the left side panel 314 of a bag body, and is located on one side of a first chain 322. With said first fastener 340 and said second fastener 350, the first opening could be sealed by closing the first zipper. In addition, the first slider 324 could be fixed on the second fastener 350 through the first fastener 340, whereby the first zipper would not be opened easily, enhancing the anti-theft function. Furthermore, the first fastener 340 of the first slider could be engaged with the second fastener 350 at a different position or different height to meet various requirements, whereby to freely adjust and position one end of the strap 330 at a different height on the left side panel 314 of the bag body. However, the fastener of said second fastener 350 is not a limitation of the present invention. In other embodiments, there could be a plurality of fasteners arranged at regular intervals on one side of the first chain 322.

A rectangular bag of a fourth embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in FIG. 6, showing a side view of the rectangular bag in a direction perpendicular to a left side panel 414. The rectangular bag could further provide a first connector 440 and a plurality of second connectors 450 based on the design of the aforementioned first and said second embodiments, wherein the first connector 440 is connected to a first slider 424, and is adapted to be detachably engaged with one of the second connectors 450. The second connectors 450 are provided on the left side panel 414 in a longitudinal direction of the first chain 422, and are arranged at regular intervals on one side of the first chain 422. In the fourth embodiment, said first connector 440 is a male half of a snap fastener as an example, while each of said second connectors 450 is a female half of a snap fastener. However, this is not a limitation of the present invention. By engaging said first connector 440 with one of the second connectors 450, a zipper thereof would not be opened easily, which enhances the anti-theft function. Also, the first connector 440 could be engaged with any one of the second connectors 450 to adjust and position one end of the strap 430 at a different height on the left side panel 414 of the bag body to meet various requirements, whereby to freely adjust the position of the strap 430.

A rectangular bag of a fifth embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in FIG. 7, showing a side view of the rectangular bag in a direction perpendicular to the left side panel 514. The difference between the rectangular bag of the fifth embodiment and that of the fourth embodiment is that, the first connector is a male clasp of a buckle assembly, while each of the second connectors is a female clasp of a buckle assembly. By detachably engaging the male clasp 540 with one of the female clasps 550 to meet specific requirements, the anti-theft function of the rectangular bag could be enhanced, and the strap could be freely adjusted and positioned. In other embodiments, the first connector could be a female clasp, while each of the second connectors could be a male clasp. However, this is not a limitation of the present invention.

It must be pointed out that the embodiments described above are only some preferred embodiments of the present invention. All equivalent structures which employ the concepts disclosed in this specification and the appended claims should fall within the scope of the present invention.
