Claims
- 1. A redispersible or soluble product obtainable by freeze drying an aqueous dispersion of a latex comprising a polyanion and a polymer or copolymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene.
- 2. A product according to claim 1 obtainable as a dry product, as a concentrated dispersion or as a paste.
- 3. A product according to claim 2 wherein the concentrated dispersion or paste has a solids content higher than 10% by weight.
- 4. A product according to claim 1 wherein the polymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene is represented by formula (I):
- 5. A product according to claim 1 wherein the polyanion is the anion of poly(styrene sulphonate) or of a copolymer thereof with styrene.
- 6. A method for making an antistatic or electroconductive layer or pattern comprising the steps of:
redispersing or diluting a product according to claim 1 by adding water or an organic solvent so as to obtain a solution or dispersion; optionally adding other ingredients to the solution or dispersion; and applying the solution or dispersion to an object.
- 7. A method according to claim 6, wherein said object is a support.
- 8. A method according to claim 6, wherein said solution or dispersion is a coating solution or dispersion.
- 9. A method according to claim 6, wherein said solution or dispersion is a printing ink.
- 10. A method for making an electroconductive layer according to claim 6 wherein the layer or pattern has a surface resistivity lower than 106 Ω/square.
- 11. A method for making an antistatic layer according to claim 6 wherein the layer has a surface resistivity of at least 106 Ω/square.
- 12. A coating solution or dispersion comprising a product according to claim 1.
- 13. A coating solution or dispersion according to claim 12 further comprising water or an organic solvent.
- 14. A coating solution or dispersion according to claim 12, wherein the concentration of the latex comprising a polyanion and a polymer or copolymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene is at least 5% by weight of the coating solution or coating dispersion.
- 15. A coating solution or dispersion according to claim 12, wherein the concentration of the latex comprising a polyanion and a polymer or copolymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene is at least 10% by weight of the coating solution or coating dispersion.
- 16. A coating solution or dispersion according to claim 12 further comprising a binder or a thickener.
- 17. A use of a coating solution or dispersion according to claim 12 for preparing an antistatic or electroconductive layer.
- 18. A printing ink comprising a product according to claim 1.
- 19. A printing ink according to claim 18 further comprising water or an organic solvent.
- 20. A printing ink according to claim 18, wherein the concentration of the latex comprising a polyanion and a polymer or copolymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene is at least 5% by weight of the printing ink.
- 21. A printing ink according to claim 18, wherein the concentration of the latex comprising a polyanion and a polymer or copolymer of a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene is at least 10% by weight of the printing ink.
- 22. A printing ink according to claim 18 further comprising a binder or a thickener.
- 23. A printing ink according to claim 18 wherein said printing ink is a driographic printing ink.
- 24. A use of a printing ink according to claim 18 for preparing an antistatic or electroconductive layer.
