Claims
- 1. A method for relieving angiotensin related hypertension in mammalian species suffering therefrom which comprises administering a composition containing an effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR12## and physiologically acceptable basic salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, phenyl-lower alkylene, hydroxy-lower alkylene, hydroxyphenyl-lower alkylene, amino-lower alkylene, guanidino-lower alkylene, mercapto-lower alkylene, lower alkylmercapto-lower alkylene, or carbamoyl-lower alkylene;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.3 is lower alkyl or phenyl-lower alkylene;
- R.sub.4 is hydroxyamino; and
- n is 1 or 2.
- 2. A method as in claim 1 wherein in the formula n is 2.
- 3. A method as in claim 1 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is hydroxyphenyl-lower alkylene.
- 4. A method as in claim 3 wherein in the formula R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 5. A method as in claim 1 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is p-hydroxyphenylmethyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 6. A method as in claim 5 wherein n is 2.
- 7. A method as in claim 1 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is guanidino-lower alkylene, amino-lower alkylene or phenyl-lower alkylene; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; and R.sub.3 is lower alkyl.
- 8. A method as in claim 7 wherein in the formula n is 2.
- 9. A method as in claim 1 wherein in the formula n is 1.
- 10. A method as in claim 9 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is guanidinopropyl, amino-C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -lower alkylene or phenylmethyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 11. A method as in claim 9 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is phenylmethyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 12. A method as in claim 11 wherein in the formula R.sub.2 is hydrogen.
- 13. A method as in claim 9 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is aminobutyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 14. A method as in claim 13 wherein in the formula R.sub.2 is hydrogen.
- 15. A method as in claim 9 wherein in the formula R.sub.1 is guanidinopropyl; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or methyl; and R.sub.3 is methyl.
- 16. A method as in claim 15 wherein in the formula R.sub.2 is hydrogen.
