- said nozzles being positioned and oriented to direct pressurized air toward and into said web in response to said eject commands for ejecting entities from the web;
- said nozzles being dimensioned and configured with respect to the source of pressurized air and the web to produce a slight positive pressure in the region of the entity that is being removed so that the web is pushed out and separated by the initial burst of air from the nozzles;
- a receiver positioned to receive pressurized air from the nozzles for receiving the entities ejected from the web, for initially providing a back pressure against the air pressure leaving the nozzles and creating an increased pressure in the region of the ejected entity for separating the web, and for producing a slight negative pressure in the web where the entity was removed for drawing together and healing the web at the position where the entity was removed.
- 6. An apparatus for monitoring and processing a moving web of textile materials while being processed in a textile mill, the web including a plurality of undesirable entities and moving at a speed in a direction generally parallel to the length of the web, comprising:
- means for monitoring the web of textile materials within a monitoring area and producing a monitor signal containing information corresponding to the content of the web, said information including the location of undesirable entities in the web;
- a speed detector for detecting the speed of the web and producing a speed signal in response to and indicating the web speed;
