Abstract
A skate includes a body including a toe having a projection on a first side and a cavity on an opposing second side; and a replaceable bar having a through hole on a first side and a protrusion on a second side; and a plurality of wheels rotatably mounted on an underside of the body. The projection is inserted through the through hole and the protrusion is inserted into the cavity, thereby assembling the replaceable bar and the toe.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to skates and more particularly to a replaceable bar for absorbing shock mounted on the toe of a skate (e.g., inline skate).

2. Description of Related Art

Conventionally, there is no bar for absorbing shock or preventing damage (as in collision) mounted on the toe of a skate (e.g., inline skate). There is a bar for absorbing shock mounted on the toe of a skate commercially available. However, the bar is formed integrally with the skate. The whole skate will be discarded if the bar is damaged or worn. This is not environmentally friendly. Thus, the need for improvement still exists.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a replaceable bar for the toe of a skate comprising a body including a toe having a projection on a first side and a cavity on an opposing second side; and a replaceable bar having a through hole on a first side and a protrusion on a second side; and a plurality of wheels rotatably mounted on an underside of the body; wherein the projection is configured to insert through the through hole and the protrusion is configured to bar insert into the cavity.

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an inline skate incorporating a replaceable bar according to the invention;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the body and the detached replaceable bar;

FIG. 3 is a side elevation of the inline skate in FIG. 1; and

FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 3.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, a skate (e.g., inline skate) 1 in accordance with the invention comprises a body 10 including a toe 11; and a plurality of wheels 20 arranged in a straight line and rotatably mounted on an underside of the body 10.

The toe 11 includes a projection 110 on the right side and a cavity 111 on the left side. The body 10 further comprises a replaceable bar 12 which is manufactured separately from the toe 11. The replaceable bar 12 includes a through hole 120 on an end of the right side and a protrusion 121 on an end of the left side.

The projection 110 is inserted through the through hole 120 and the protrusion 121 is inserted into the cavity 11, thereby assembling the replaceable bar 12 and the toe 11.

The replaceable bar 12 is used to absorb shock or prevent damage (as in collision) when an individual wears the inline skate 1 to skate.

The invention has the following advantages and benefits in comparison with the conventional art: the replaceable bar 12 can be replaced with a new one if it is damaged or worn. This is environmentally friendly.

While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
