Claims
- 1. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- calculating means for calculating a field depth factor Df, said field depth factor Df being obtained by processing a value substantially equal to a calculated depth of field and modifying said value in accordance with at least one of an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, a diameter of a permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value and a lens focal length; and
- display means for displaying a depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor Df.
- 2. The device according to claim 1, said display means comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being selectively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 3. The device according to claim 2, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 4. The device according to claim 1, said display means comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 5. The device according to claim 4, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
- 6. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- calculating means for calculating a field depth factor Df with respect to a predetermined set of photographic parameters, said field depth factor Df being obtained by processing a value substantially equivalent to a calculated depth of field for said predetermined set of photographic parameters, and for at least one of, said predetermined set of photographic parameters, an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, a diameter of permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value and a lens focal length; and
- display means for displaying a depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor Df.
- 7. The device according to claim 6, said display means comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being electively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 8. The device according to claim 7, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 9. The device according to claim 6, said display means comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of the display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 10. The device according to claim 9, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
- 11. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- a calculator, said calculator calculating a field depth factor Df, said field depth factor being obtained by processing a value substantially equivalent to a calculated depth of field, and modifying said value in accordance with at least one of an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, a diameter of a permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value and a lens focal length; and
- a display for displaying depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor Df.
- 12. The device according to claim 11, said display comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being selectively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 13. The device according to claim 12, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 14. The device according to claim 11, said display comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 15. The device according to claim 14, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
- 16. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- a calculator, said calculator calculating a field depth factor Df with respect to a predetermined set of photographic parameters, said field depth factor Df being obtained by processing a value substantially equivalent to a calculated depth of field for said predetermined set of photographic parameters, and in accordance with at least one of said predetermined set of predetermined photographic parameters, an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, diameter of a permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value, and a lens focal length; and
- a display for displaying depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor.
- 17. The device according to claim 16, said display comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being selectively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 18. The device according to claim 17, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 19. The device according to claim 16, said display comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 20. The device according to claim 19, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
- 21. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- calculating means for calculating a field depth factor Df, said field depth factor Df being obtained by processing parameters consisting of at least one of a calculated depth of field, an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, a diameter of a permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value and a lens focal length, said field depth factor Df being different from any of said parameters; and
- display means for displaying a depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor Df.
- 22. The device according to claim 21, said display means comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being selectively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 23. The device according to claim 22, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 24. The device according to claim 21, said display means comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 25. The device according to claim 24, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
- 26. A device for representing a depth of field in a camera, said device comprising:
- a calculator said calculator calculating a field depth factor Df, said field depth factor being obtained by processing parameters consisting of at least one of a calculated depth of field, an object distance, a lens hyper-focal length, a diameter of a permissible circle of confusion, a lens aperture value and a lens focal length, said field depth factor Df being different from any of said parameters; and
- a display for displaying depth of field on a basis of a magnitude of the obtained field depth factor Df.
- 27. The device according to claim 26, said display comprising at least three display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, said display segments being selectively turned ON in accordance with a value of said field depth factor Df.
- 28. The device according to claim 27, wherein predetermined values of the field depth factor Df are allotted to each of said display segments, said display segments being arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values.
- 29. The device according to claim 26, said display comprising a plurality of display segments displaying the field depth factor Df, wherein Dfs is defined as being equal to Df multiplied by N, where N is a difference between minimum and maximum values of Df, and where the number of display segments n is determined as follows:
- log.sub.a Dfs.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.log.sub.a Dfs+1
- and wherein said display segments are arranged in order from a smallest one of the allotted Df values in accordance with a magnitude of Dfs.
- 30. The device according to claim 29, wherein the base a is one of 2 and 3 and N is equal to 10.sup.a.
