Claims
- 1. A packaging material comprising 50 to 99.85% by weight of a thermoplastic resin, 0.05 to 15% by weight of carbon black having a pH of 6 to 9 and a mean particle size of 10 to 120 microns, 0.02 to 0.5% by weight of vitamin E and not containing an ultraviolet absorber wherein the packaging material is capable of protecting photographic photosensitive materials from exposure by light.
- 2. The packaging material of claim 1 which is a light-shielding film, wherein the thermoplastic resin is a member selected from the group consisting of ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer resins, low density polyethylene resin, medium density polyethylene resin, high density polyethylene resin, polypropylene resins, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin, ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer resin, polyamide resin, polyester resin, modified polyolefin resins, ionomers and blend resins containing one or more of the above resins.
- 3. The packaging material of claim 1 which is a member selected from the group consisting of injection molding light-shielding containers and light-shielding members of magazines for light room loading.
- 4. The packaging material of claim 1 which is a photographic film spool, wherein the thermoplastic resin is a member selected from the group consisting of polystyrene resin, synthetic rubber-blended polystyrene resin, synthetic rubber-copolymerized polystyrene resin, homopolypropylene resin, propylene-.alpha.-olefin block copolymer resin, propylene-.alpha.-olefin random copolymer resin, high density polyethylene resin, ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer resin, polyamide resin, acrylonitrile-styrene-butadiene copolymer resin, blends of resins containing one or more of the above resins, and modified resins of the foregoing resins containing modifiers or additives.
- 5. The packaging material of claim 1 wherein the thermoplastic resin is present in an amount of from 70 to 99.5 by weight.
- 6. The packaging material of claim 1 which further contains a lubricant and an antiblocking agent.
- 7. The packaging material of claim 6 wherein the light-shielding ability of the packaging material is more than 20% greater than the light-shielding ability of packaging material which does not contain the vitamin E.
