Claims
- 1. A piezoelectric oscillator comprising:
- at least one pressure seal type piezoelectric resonator, said piezoelectric resonator including a resonator case having a first wall defining a circular opening, a stem in a press fit engagement with the case and located within the opening, a quantity of solder which includes at least about 90% lead (Pb) between the first wall and the stem and sealing the stem to the first wall in the opening, a piezoelectric vibrator within the case and at least one outer lead passing through the stem to the interior of the case to the piezoelectric vibrator, said at least one outer lead being electrically coupled to the piezoelectric vibrator;
- at least one IC chip for electrically oscillating said piezoelectric resonator;
- a lead frame having at least one tab portion for mounting said IC chip, a plurality of leads for electrically connecting said IC chip, and a plurality of leads for electrically connecting said outer leads of said piezoelectric resonator; and
- said at least one pressure seal type piezoelectric resonator, said at least one IC chip, and said lead frame being molded by resin.
- 2. The piezoelectric oscillator of claim 1, wherein said lead frame has a first surface and a second surface on an opposite side from said first surface and said IC chip is mounted on said first surface of said lead frame and said piezoelectric resonator is mounted on said second surface of said lead frame.
- 3. The piezoelectric oscillator of claim 2, wherein said lead frame has a tab portion having a first tab surface and a second tab surface opposite said first tab surface and said IC chip is mounted on said first tab surface and said piezoelectric resonator is mounted on said second tab surface.
- 4. The piezoelectric oscillator of claim 3, wherein said lead frame is formed substantially in a plane, and said tab portion is offset from the plane of said lead frame such that said first tab surface of said tab portion is closer to the plane of said lead frame than said second tab surface of said tab portion.
- 5. The piezoelectric oscillator of claim 1, wherein said IC chip and said piezoelectric resonator are both mounted on one surface of said lead frame.
- 6. A piezoelectric resonator unit comprising:
- a pressure seal type piezoelectric resonator, said piezoelectric resonator including a resonator case having a first wall defining a circular opening, a stem in a press fit engagement with the case and located within the opening, a quantity of solder which includes at least about 90% lead (Pb) between the first wall and the stem and sealing the stem to the first wall in the opening, a piezoelectric vibrator within the case and at least one outer lead passing through the stem to the interior of the case to the piezoelectric vibrator, said at least one outer lead being electrically coupled to the piezoelectric vibrator; and
- a lead frame, said at least one outer lead being fixed to said lead frame, and said piezoelectric resonator and said lead frame being molded by resin.
- 7. A resin mold type piezoelectric oscillator comprising:
- at least one piezoelectric resonator having a resonator case, a piezoelectric vibrator within said resonator case and at least one outer lead electrically coupled to said piezoelectric vibrator;
- at least one IC chip for electrically oscillating said piezoelectric resonator;
- a lead frame formed substantially in a plane and having at least one tab portion having said at least one IC chip and said at least one piezoelectric resonator mounted thereon, a plurality of leads for electrically connecting said IC chip, and a plurality of leads for electrically connecting for connecting the outer leads of said piezoelectric resonator;
- said at least one piezoelectric resonator, said at least one IC chip, and said lead frame being molded by resin; and
- said tab portion having a first tab surface and a second tab surface opposite said first tab surface, said IC chip being mounted on said first tab surface, said at least one piezoelectric resonator being mounted on said second tab surface, and said tab portion being offset from the plane of the lead frame such that said first tab surface is closer to the plane of said lead frame than said second tab surface.
