Claims
- 1. A cellulosic board formed under heat and pressure from separate cellulosic components bound together by an adhesive binder cured under applied heat and pressure, wherein said binder in its uncured form comprises an aqueous resin blend wherein said aqueous resin blend comprises an alkaline phenol-formaldehyde resole resin and an accelerator wherein said accelerator comprises a resorcinol-glutaraldehyde resin.
- 2. The cellulosic board of claim 1, wherein said aqueous resin blend comprises an aqueous solution of said alkaline phenol-formaldehyde resole resin having a solids content of at least 40% by weight.
- 3. The cellulosic board of claim 2, wherein said aqueous resin blend comprises
- about 1 to about 25 parts by weight of an aqueous solution of said resorcinol-glutaraldehyde resin wherein said aqueous solution of resorcinol-glutaraldehyde resin has a solids content of 40% to 60% by weight and
- about 99 to about 75 parts by weight of an aqueous solution of said alkaline phenol-formaldehyde resole resin wherein said aqueous solution of said alkaline phenol-formaldehyde resole resin has a solids content of at least 40% by weight.
