Claims
- 1. An apparatus for securing sheathing and structural members of a building comprising:
a. a unitary body having a first web, an attached right angle bend, and an attached second web having a mirror-image shape of said first web; b. said first web and said second web having a generally triangular shape; c. said first web and said second web having a generally flat horizontal bottom; d. said right angled bend forming a congruent side of said first web and said second web; e. said right angled bend having a generally vertical axis; f. said first web and said second web having hypotenuses with s-shaped edges.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said s-shaped edges having a predetermined thickness and a predetermined slope as a means for shedding moisture, when mounted on the outside of a building.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said first web and said second web having a predetermined area as a means for placement against a corner of a building.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said first web and said second web having a plurality of nail holes as a means for attachment to sheathing and underlying structural members.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said vertical right angle and said horizontal bottoms are perpendicular as a means of having straight edges of said apparatus overlying hidden, intersecting structural members.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said first web and said second web having a plurality of predetermined nail holes and a predetermined area as a means of preventing splitting of wood sheathing and separation from underlying structural members during wind storms and seismic events.
- 7. An apparatus having a first web, a second web, and a congruent right angled bend, and having attaching means for placement on a corner of a building, for securing sheathing and underlying, intersecting structural members together, as a means for preventing damage to a building during wind storms and seismic events.
