Claims
- 1. An apparatus for securing adjacent roof trusses on a building comprising:
a. a unitary body having a generally flat rectangular plate; b. said plate having a bend line approximately in the middle; c. said plate having generally right angled bends on each short side; d. said right angled bends forming rafter tabs; e. said rafter tabs having a truncated rectangular shape.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rectangular plate having a predetermined length as a means for accurately spacing apart adjacent roof trusses at a predetermined distance.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rectangular plate having a predetermined width as a means for placement of said rafter tabs on upper chords of adjacent trusses.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rectangular plate having the axis of said middle bend line along the long dimension as a means for installation along truss chords of different slope.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rafter tabs having truncated cutout generally at the center as a means for placement against the roof ridge, where the upper chords may be steeply sloped.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein said rafter tabs having a plurality of nail holes as a means for attachment against the wide face of adjacent trusses.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6 wherein said apparatus having attaching means to adjacent trusses on new and existing buildings as a means for spacing apart trusses, supporting trusses, and preventing lateral movement during strong winds and seismic events.
- 8. An apparatus having a unitary body having a generally flat rectangular plate, said plate having a bend line approximately in the middle, said plate having generally right angled bends on each short side, said right angled bends forming rafter tabs, and said rafter tabs having a truncated rectangle shape, wherein said rafter tabs having attaching means to trusses on new and existing buildings, and having attaching means on said rectangular plate to a roof plate on top of the roofing as a means for preventing uplift of the roof during strong winds or seismic events.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 8 wherein said roof plate having a generally rectangular shape and a plurality of nail holes as a means for attachment through a roof to an underlying ridge plate.
- 10. An apparatus for securing adjacent roof trusses on a building comprising:
a. a unitary body having a generally flat rectangular plate; b. said plate having a bend line approximately in the middle; c. said plate having generally right angled bends on each short side; d. said right angled bends forming rafter tabs; e. said rafter tabs having a truncated rectangle shape; f said plate having truss braces at right angles to the plate and parallel to the rafter tabs.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said rectangular plate and predetermined length as a means for spacing opposing faces of adjacent trusses at a predetermined distance apart.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said rectangular plate having the axis of said middle bend line along the long dimension as a means for installation along trusses with changing slope.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said rafter tabs having truncated cutout generally at the center as a means for placement against the roof ridge where the upper chords change slope.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said rafter tabs having a plurality of nail holes as a means for attachment against the wide face of adjacent trusses.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said truss braces having a predetermined distance from said rafter tabs and a nail hole as a means for placement and attachment to both wide sides of a roof truss.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein said apparatus having attaching means to adjacent trusses on new and existing buildings as a means for spacing apart trusses, supporting trusses, and preventing lateral movement during strong winds and seismic events.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 17 wherein said roof plate having a generally rectangular shape and a plurality of nail holes as a means for attachment through a roof to an underlying truss support.
