Claims
- 1. A reusable labeling construction for use with a container that is adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
a. a removable label including
i. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having an area adapted to receive information corresponding to an address of the intended recipient, and ii. a layer of a selected adhesive; and b. a label panel adapted to be supported by a body of said container, said label panel including a transparent surface portion formed of a material to which the selected adhesive will adhere sufficiently to retain the label on the transparent surface portion during shipment, yet from which the label may be removed without tearing the strip material.
- 2. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label panel includes a substrate having a return address area adapted to receive information corresponding to a return address for the container, said transparent layer overlaying said return address area.
- 3. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes a tracking information area adapted to receive tracking information provided by a carrier responsible for delivering the parcel to the intended recipient.
- 4. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes pre-paid postage information.
- 5. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 4 wherein the pre-paid postage information is printed on said label substrate.
- 6. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate includes inventory tracking information associated with the container.
- 7. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said label substrate is a placard and wherein said transparent surface portion is a layer of film adhered to said placard.
- 8. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said release material is polytetrafluoroethylene.
- 9. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 1 wherein said removable layer is opaque.
- 10. A reusable labeling construction for use with a container that is adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
a. a label substrate adapted to be secured to a body of said container, said label panel including return address indicia; b. a transparent layer secured to said label panel and overlaying said return address indicia, said transparent layer including an exposed surface portion formed of a release material; and c. a removable label, including
i. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having an area adapted to receive information corresponding to an address of an intended recipient of the received parcel, and ii. a layer of a selected adhesive which is adapted to adhere sufficiently to the exposed surface portion of said transparent layer to retain the label on the transparent layer during shipment, yet from which the label may be forcefully removed without tearing the strip material.
- 11. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said release material is polytetrafluoroethylene and the removable label is opaque.
- 12. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said label substrate is a stiff, rectangular placard.
- 13. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein the return address indicia corresponds to a return address for an owner of the container.
- 14. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 12 wherein the return address indicia is pre-printed in a central location on said placard.
- 15. A reusable labeling construction according to any of claims 10 and 12 wherein said transparent layer is adhered to said label substrate.
- 16. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 15 wherein said transparent layer is a rectangular sheet of film having a reduced surface area relative to said label panel.
- 17. A reusable labeling construction according to claim 10 wherein said label substrate includes indicia thereon selected from a group consisting of: pre-paid postage information, postage charging information, inventory tracking associated with the container, and said return address indicia.
- 18. A container adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
a. a closable container body having an interior and a mouth communicating with the interior; b. a label substrate supported by said container body, said label substrate including return address indicia corresponding to a return address for the container; and c. a transparent layer overlaying said return address indicia so that the return address indicia may be seen there through, said transparent layer including an exposed surface portion formed of a release material so that a removable shipping label may be releasably affixed thereto.
- 19. A container according to claim 18 including a closure movable between an open position such that the parcel may be inserted into and removed from the interior and a closed position to retain the parcel in the interior as a received parcel.
- 20. A container according to claim 18 wherein said container body is formed as a flexible pouch having a perimeter, said pouch including first and second body panels joined about a majority of the perimeter to define a sealed edge, with an enjoined portion defining the mouth.
- 21. A container according to claim 20 wherein said label substrate is sewn to one of said first and second body panels.
- 22. A container according to claim 18 wherein said transparent layer is a clear film adhered to said label substrate.
- 23. A container according to claim 22 wherein said label substrate is a stiff rectangular placard.
- 24. A container according to claim 23 wherein said placard is provided with printed indicia selected from a group consisting of: pre-paid postage information, postage charging information, inventory tracking information, and said return address indicia.
- 25. A container adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
a. a container body having an interior and a mouth communicating with the interior, said container body including
i. an outer surface portion provided with return address indicia corresponding to a return address for the container; and ii. a transparent layer overlaying said return address indicia so that the return address indicia may be seen there through, said transparent layer including an exposed surface portion formed of a release material so that a removable shipping label may be releasably adhered to said transparent layer during shipment, yet forcefully removed there from without tearing the shipping label.
- 26. A container according to claim 25 including a closure movable between an open position such that the parcel may be inserted into and removed from the interior and a closed position to retain the parcel in the interior as a received parcel.
- 27. A container according to claim 25 wherein said container body is formed as a flexible pouch having a perimeter, said pouch including first and second body panels joined about a majority of the perimeter to define a sealed edge, with an enjoined portion defining the mouth.
- 28. A container according to claim 25 wherein said container body is a cardboard box having a plurality of joined panels, and wherein one of said panels forms said outer surface portion
- 29. A container according to claim 28 wherein said exposed surface portion is supported relative to one of said first and second body panels.
- 30. A container according to claim 29 wherein said exposed surface portion is disposed on a label substrate which is formed as a stiff rectangular placard.
- 31. A container according to any of claims 30 wherein said transparent layer is a clear film adhered to said label substrate.
- 32. A container according to claim 30 wherein said placard is provided with printed indicia selected from a group consisting of: pre-paid postage information, postage charging information, inventory tracking information associated with the container, and said return address indicia.
- 33. A method of shipping a parcel from a shipper located at a origin location to an intended recipient located at destination location, comprising:
a. at the origin location and in any order:
i. creating a shipping package by packaging the parcel to be shipped in an individual reusable container that includes:
1. a closable container body having an interior and a mouth communicating with the interior; 2. a label panel including
a. owner address indicia corresponding to an address for an owner of the container, and b. an exposed transparent surface portion overlaying the owner address indicia so that the owner address indicia may be seen therethrough, said transparent surface portion formed of a release material; ii. placing a removable label onto the transparent surface portion, said removable label including
1. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having a first surface region provided with information corresponding to an address for the intended recipient of the parcel, and 2. an opposed second surface region provided with a layer of a selected adhesive so that the opposed second surface region of said label can be secured to said exposed surface portion during shipment to the intended recipient, yet removed there from at the destination location without tearing the strip of material; and iii. delivering the shipping packing to the destination location.
- 34. A method of shipping parcels from shippers each located at a respective origin location to intended recipients each located at a respective destination location, comprising:
a. at a respective origin location for a respective shipper and in any order:
i. creating a respective shipping package by packaging each parcel to be shipped by the respective shipper in an individual reusable container that includes:
1. a closable container body having an interior and a mouth communicating with the interior; 2. a label substrate secured to said container body, said label panel including owner address indicia corresponding to an address for an owner of the container; and 3. a transparent layer secured to said label substrate and overlaying said owner address indicia so that the owner address indicia may be seen therethrough, said transparent layer including an exposed surface portion formed of a release material; ii. placing an associated removable label onto the transparent layer, each removable label including
1. a strip constructed of a selected strip material and having a first surface region provided with information corresponding to an address for an associated intended recipient of the parcel, and 2. an opposed second surface region provided with a layer of a selected adhesive so that the opposed second surface region of said label can be secured to said exposed surface portion of the transparent layer during shipment to the associated intended recipient, yet removed there from at the associated destination location without tearing the strip of material; iii. delivering the shipping packing to the destination location associated with the intended recipient; and iv. repeating steps (a)(i) through (a)(iii) at each respective origin location.
- 35. A label panel for use with a container that is adapted to receive a parcel for shipment to an intended recipient, comprising:
a. a label substrate securable to a body of said container, said label substrate including return address indicia corresponding to a return address for the container; and b. a transparent film adhered to said label substrate and overlaying the return address indicia, said transparent film having an exposed outer surface portion formed of a release material so that a removable shipping label may be releasably adhered to said outer surface portion during shipment, yet forcefully removed there from without tearing the shipping label.
