- 7. A device according to claim 1, wherein said annular holder defines a plurality of wall surfaces respectively confronted with an outer cylindrical surface of each of said rolling members, said wall surfaces contiguously forcing said outer cylindrical surface of each of said rolling members to move said rolling members from said first position to said second position.
- 8. A device according to claim 7, further comprising a plurality of springs for respectively biasing each of said rolling members against said wall surface.
- 9. A fishing reel with a reverse rotation preventive device selectively preventing a reverse rotation of a rotary shaft, said fishing reel comprising:
- a fishing reel main body;
- a rotary shaft supported on said fishing reel main body and rotatable in linking with a rotation of a handle;
- an annular outer frame fixedly mounted on a portion of said reel main body located around said rotary shaft;
- at least one cylindrical member located radially between said rotary shaft and said annular outer frame so that a radially outward displacement of said cylindrical member is restricted by said annular outer frame;
- an annular holder provided around said rotary shaft and rotatable with respect to said annular outer frame, said annular outer frame comprising at least one window passing from an outer peripheral surface to an inner peripheral surface of said holder, said cylindrical member being received in said window and restricted from moving along an axis of said cylindrical member by two opposite side walls defined by said window;
- an operation rod rotatably supported by the fishing reel main body, said operation rod having an engagement portion engaging with said annular holder, wherein rotational operation of said operation rod rotates said annular holder with respect to said annular outer frame to move the rolling member between a first position where said rolling member is permitted to perform a wedge action in cooperation with said rotary shaft and said annular outer frame to thereby permit said rotary shaft to rotate in a first direction and prevented said rotary shaft from rotating in a second direction opposite from said first direction, and a second position where said rolling member is prevented from performing said wedge action to thereby permit said rotary shaft to rotate in both said first and second directions.
- 10. A fishing reel according to claim 7, further comprising a rotor secured to said rotary shaft and rotatable in said first direction in linking with the rotation of said handle for winding a fishline onto a spool, said rotor having a rear skirt defining a recess, wherein:
- said fishing reel main body having a front portion located within said recess and a rear portion opposite from said front portion;
- said annular outer frame is fixedly mounted on said front portion of said reel main body; and
- said operation rod is rotatably supported by said front portion so that said operation rod engages with said annular holder within said recess.
- 11. A fishing reel according to claim 10, wherein said operation rod passes through said fishing reel main body and projects from said rear portion.
- 12. A fishing reel according to claim 9, wherein said annular outer frame defines a radially inner face confronted with an outer cylindrical surface of said rolling member, and said radially inner face being substantially in the form of a polygon, whereby said rolling member is brought into contact with said radially inner face to perform said wedge action when said cylindrical member is located at said first position and said rotor member attempts to rotate in said second direction.
