Claims
- 1. A reversible thermosensitive composition comprising an electron donating coloring compound and an electron accepting compound and capable of assuming a relatively colored state and a relatively discolored state depending upon the temperature at which said composition is heated and/or the rate at which the heated composition is cooled, characterized in that said electron accepting compound is a phenol compound represented by the formula: ##STR28## wherein n is an integer of between 1 and 3, X represents a divalent group having a nitrogen atom or an oxygen atom, R.sup.1 represents a substituted or non-substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon group having at least two carbon atoms and R.sup.2 represents a hydrocarbon group.
- 2. A composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said phenol compound is selected from the group consisting of the compounds represented by the formulas (3) to (10): ##STR29## wherein n and o independently represent an integer between 1 and 22, m represents an integer between 2 and 22 and p represents an integer between 1 and 4, provided that the total number of m,n and o is at least 8, Z represents a divalent group having a nitrogen atom or an oxygen atom and Y represents a divalent group having a nitrogen atom or an oxygen atom.
- 3. A composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein R.sup.1 represents --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -- where m is an integer of between 2 and 22 and R.sup.2 represents --(CH.sub.2).sub.n-1 CH.sub.3 where n is an integer of between 1 and 22.
