DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

This detailed description focuses on several aspects of this device including the adjustable attachment apparatus that enables a user to attach the cushion to an object, the pocket contained in the outer cloth covering of the cushion that enables a user to keep and/or store objects in the pocket, the hanging loop on the side of the cushion that allows users to hang small objects from the loop, including, but not limited to sunglasses, a carabiner, etc., and the elasticized loop that aides a user in securing the cushion in a rolled up compact position for transport and storage.

This device is for use in any situation in which a user needs added cushion for his or her head, neck, shoulders, back, bottom and/or feet. For example, a user may be lounging in a beach chair at the beach or pool and need added cushion for his or her shoulders or back. A user may be driving in his or her car on a road trip or business trip and need added cushion on his or her lower back. A user may be working from home and sitting in an uncomfortable kitchen chair at his or her kitchen table that is doubling as a workspace. A user may be sitting on bleachers watching a baseball game or basketball game and need added cushion to sit upon. A user may be camping in the great outdoors and need a compact cushion to use at his or her campsite. A user may use the attachment apparatus to position the cushion around his or her waist or chest. Preferably, the compact cushion is available in many different sizes to accommodate for different uses, from a small child size to a large size for accommodating a user sitting or standing upon the cushion. A preferable dimension for the large size is thirty inches in width by thirty-six inches in length.

The adjustable attachment apparatus shown in FIG. 3 is preferably made of a webbing and buckle system to allow for the user to adjust and secure the cushion to objects with different dimensions. A user may want to attach and secure the cushion to a kitchen chair one moment and then later that day, the user may want to attach and secure the cushion to the seat of the user's car to use while driving. The preferable method for allowing the user to secure the cushion to objects with different dimensions is the webbing and buckle system. Another embodiment of the attachment apparatus is the use of elasticized webbing. Yet another embodiment of the attachment apparatus is the use of webbing without the addition of the adjustable buckle system. In that embodiment, both ends of the webbing would be attached directly to the cushion without the buckle system and the ability to adjust the length of the webbing.

The pocket that is contained in the outer cloth covering of the cushion as shown in FIG. 5 is preferably made from the same fabric as the outer covering. The pocket is preferably attached to the inside of the outer covering and provides a layer between the stuffing material and the outer cloth covering. The pocket preferably extends the length of the covering from the opening of the pocket to the side of the covering. The pocket preferably uses a hook and loop closure system to keep a user's objects secure. The user can use this pocket to store any smaller objects, including, but not limited to, a cell phone, a wallet, cash, a key card, or an aromatherapy sachet. Another embodiment of this pocket is making the pocket from a different fabric. Yet another embodiment of this pocket is incorporating the pocket on the outside of the outer cloth covering with an opening on the outside of the outer cloth covering. Yet another embodiment of the pocket is incorporating the pocket along the entire length of the cushion. Yet another embodiment of the pocket is incorporating pockets on both the front and back sides of the cushion. Yet another embodiment of the closure incorporated on the pocket is the use of a different type of closure system, such as the use of a button closure system, snap closure system, zipper closure, or hook and eye closure system.

The hanging loop that is attached to the side of the outer cloth covering of the cushion as shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 5 is preferably made from webbing. The hanging loop is preferably attached on the left side of the cushion in a predetermined position as shown in the above referenced Figures. The user can use this hanging loop to hang small objects, including, but not limited to, a pair of glasses, a carabiner, or keys. Another embodiment of the hanging loop is to use a different material for the hanging loop, including, but not limited to, elasticized webbing, a leather strip, an elasticized loop or a ribbon. Yet another embodiment of this hanging loop is to attach the hanging loop in a different position on the cushion, including, but not limited to, attaching the hanging loop in a lower position on the left side or attaching the hanging loop on the right side of the cushion.

The tabs that attach the attachment apparatus to the sides of the cushion as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5 are preferably tapered to provide for added strength and support when the attachment apparatus is being used to secure the cushion to an object. Another embodiment of the tabs is to use a wider, square tab to attach the attachment apparatus to the cushion. Yet another embodiment is to attach the attachment apparatus directly to the cushion without incorporating the attachment tabs.

The elasticized loop that is attached to the right side of the outer cloth covering of the cushion as shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3 is preferably made from an elasticized loop. The elasticized loop is preferably attached on the right side of the cushion in a predetermined position to enable the user to easily roll up and secure the cushion in a compact position. Another embodiment of the elasticized loop is the use of a shock cord or fibertex cord.

The stuffing material inside of the outer cloth covering of the cushion is preferably made from biodegradable natural rubber latex foam to provide a stuffing material without added fillers and/or petroleum products. Another embodiment of the stuffing material could include using a different stuffing material such as a memory foam, an open cell antimicrobial foam, or a polyurethane foam.
