Claims
- 1. A rolling mill equipped with an on-line roll grinding system comprising:a grinding wheel positioned to face one of a pair of mill rolls for grinding said mill roll, grinding wheel moving means for pressing said grinding wheel against said mill roll, and grinding wheel traverse means for moving said grinding wheel in the axial direction of said mill roll wherein: said grinding wheel comprises a wheel disk and an abrasive layer formed on one side of said wheel disk facing said mill roll; said on-line roll grinding system further comprising control means for changing a rate of grinding of said mill roll measured by an on-line profile meter, and; said rolling mill comprising at least one of roll bender means for applying bender forces to said mill roll, roll shifting means for shifting said mill roll in the axial direction and roll cross means for making said pair of mill rolls crossed with respect to each other, and control means for controlling at least one of the bender forces by said roll bender means, a shift position by said roll shifting means and a cross angle by said roll cross means based on the profile of said mill roll measured by said on-line profile meter so that a strip crown approaches a target strip crown.
- 2. A rolling mill equipped with an on-line roll grinding system comprising:a grinding wheel positioned to face one of a pair of mill rolls for grinding said mill roll, grinding wheel moving means for pressing said grinding wheel against said mill roll, and grinding wheel traverse means for moving said grinding wheel in the axial direction of said mill roll, wherein: said grinding wheel comprises a wheel disk and an abrasive layer formed on one side of said wheel disk facing said mill-roll; said on-line grinding system further comprising control means for calculating a deviation of a profile of said mill roll measured by an on-line profile meter from a preset target roll profile, and controlling at least one of said grinding wheel moving means and said grinding wheel traverse means based on the calculated deviation to change a rate of grinding of said mill roll by said grinding wheel so that said mill roll is ground to be identical with said target roll profile, and; said rolling mill comprising at least one of roll bender means for applying bender forces to said mill roll, roll shifting means for shifting said mill roll in the axial direction and roll cross means for making said pair of mill rolls crossed with respect to each other, and control means for controlling at least one of the bender forces by said roll bender means, a shift position by said roll shifting means and a cross angle by said roll cross means based on the profile of said mill roll measured by said on-line profile meter so that a strip crown approaches a target strip crown.
- 3. A rolling mill comprising:at least a pair of mill rolls, at least one of roll bender means, roll shifting means and roll cross means for said mill rolls, control means for controlling at least one of the bender forces by said roll bender means, a shift position by said roll shifting means and a cross angle by said roll cross means; an on-line roll grinding unit for at least one of said mill rolls, and an on-line profile meter for said mill roll, wherein said on-line roll grinding unit comprises: a grinding wheel positioned to face said one of the pair of mill rolls, said grinding wheel comprises a wheel disk and an abrasive layer formed on one side of said wheel disk facing said mill roll; grinding wheel moving means positioned on the opposite side of said grinding wheel from said mill roll whereby said grinding wheel is pressed against said mill roll; and grinding wheel traverse means engaging a rail arranged to extend an axial direction of said mill roll whereby said grinding wheel is moved in the axial direction of said mill roll; and said control means is electrically connected with said on-line profile meter whereby said control means controls one of the bender forces by said roll bender means, a shift position by said roll shifting means and a cross angle by said roll cross means based on the profile of said mill roll measured by said on-line profile meter so that a strip crown approaches a target strip crown.
- 4. A rolling method by a rolling mill equipped with an on-line roll grinding system comprising:a grinding wheel positioned to face one of a pair of mill rolls for grinding said mill roll, grinding wheel moving means for pressing said grinding wheel against said mill roll, and grinding wheel traverse means for moving said grinding wheel in the axial direction of said mill roll, wherein the method comprises: providing said grinding wheel with a wheel disk and an abrasive layer formed on one side of said wheel disk facing said mill roll; measuring a profile of said mill roll; grinding said mill roll by changing a rate of grinding of said mill roll by changing a rate of grinding of said mill roll by said grinding wheel based on said measured profile, and; performing at least one of applying bender forces to said mill roll, shifting said mill roll in the axial direction and crossing said pair of mill roll with respect to each other so that a strip crown approaches a target strip crown.
- 5. A rolling method by a rolling mill equipped with an on-line roll grinding system comprising:a grinding wheel positioned to face one of a pair of mill rolls for grinding said mill roll, grinding wheel moving means for pressing said grinding wheel against said mill roll, and grinding wheel traverse means for moving said grinding wheel in the axial direction of said mill roll wherein the method comprises: providing said grinding wheel with a wheel disk and an abrasive layer formed on one side of said wheel disk facing said mill roll; calculating a deviation of a profile of said mill roll measured by an on-line profile meter from a preset target roll profile, and controlling at least one of said grinding wheel moving means and said grinding wheel traverse means based on the calculated deviation to change a ate of grinding of said mill roll by said grinding wheel so that said mill roll is ground to be identical with said target roll profile, and; performing at least one of applying bender forces to said mill roll, shifting said mill roll in the axial direction and crossing said pair of mill roll with respect to each other so that a strip crown approaches a target strip crown.
