Abstract
A rotary display rack having at least one hub disposed on a support column and a means for selectively positioning the hub on the support column.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to displays and more particularly to a rotary display rack with at least one moveable hub.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Retailers use display racks to place products for purchase by consumers. The display racks can allow for multiple products to be displayed and/or different products to be displayed.

One such display rack is a rotary display rack. The rotary display racks contain one or more hubs mounted on a support column. The hubs have products disposed on the hubs usually with hooks. A consumer can rotate the hub to locate specific products, or browse all of the products located on the rotary display rack.

Due to varying sizes on products and product packages, it would be desirable to have rotary display racks, which provide for the display of multiple products which have differing product/package sizes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a rotary display rack, which includes at least one hub disposed on a support column and a means for selectively positioning the hub on the support column. By having a selectively positionable hub, the hub can display a plurality of differently sized products/packages.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a side view of a rotary display rack according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a side view of another rotary display rack according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

A rotary display rack 10 according to the present invention includes at least one hub 12 disposed on a support column 14 and a means for selectively positioning the hub 12 on the support column 14. The column 14 can have a fixed length or it can be telescopic, that is, it can have an adjustable length to allow for a variance in the number of hubs 12 disposed on the support column 14.

The hub 12 can comprise a ring 16 with a plurality of members 18 extending slightly downwardly away there from. The members 18 allow for a product 20 to be displayed on the rotary display rack 10. Members for displaying a product 20 can include, but are not limited to, hooks 22, pegs, wires, loops, clips, or other suitable structures known in the art.

The hub 12 can alternatively comprise a display header 24 with a plurality of members 18 ex-tending slightly downwardly away there from. The display header 24 allows for an insert 26 to be associated with a product 20 displayed on the members 18. The insert 26 provides a consumer and/or a retailer with product information such as, for example, price, description, Universal Product Codes (UPC) bars, manufacturer/supplier information, and information for reordering.

When the hub 12 is rotated, it is preferred that the members 18 not rotate in relation to the hub 12, but rather, retain their original orientation to the hub 12. It is also contemplated to provide moveable and/or detachable members 18. The moveable members 18 can include any number of known structures including tracks, screws or other similar structure that will allow the members 18 to be selectively positioned about the circumference of the hub 12. The moveable members 18 would facilitate the display of products 20 (or packages) with varying widths.

As mentioned above, the hub (or hubs) 12 is selectively positioned on the support column 14 by a means for selectively positioning the hub 12. The means can include set screws, locking pins, tapered bushings, mating rings, springs, clips, ratchets, ball bearings, etc. It will be understood that the hub can further comprise rotatable means, as well as means for securing the hub at the desired location on the support column. Such rotation can occur by any number of conventional mechanisms including but not limited to ball bearings. Since the hub 12 is selectively positioned on the column 14, the hub 12 can display different products 20 having multiple lengths.

FIG. 1 shows a rotary display rack 10 according to the present invention with three hubs 12 disposed on a support column 14 and a means for selectively positioning the hub 12 on the sup-port column 14, therefore allowing the presentation of longer products and fulfilling the retailers costumers needs. The hub 12 can be adjusted on the support column by a set screw, locking pins, tapered bushing and mating ring that lock the hub 12 by the force of the gravity and friction. The hubs 12 comprise a ring 16 with a plurality of members 18 extending slightly downwardly away there from. The members 18 allow for a product 20 to be displayed on the rotary display rack.

FIG. 2 shows a rotary display rack 10 according to the present invention with tree hubs 12 comprising a display header 24. The display header 24 allows for an insert 26 to be associated with a product 20 displayed on the members 18. Additional hubs 12 used as merchandise rings may be positioned on the support column.
