Abstract
A rotary spool spinner for wire dispensing that includes: a plurality of wire dispensers, where said wire dispensers are secured onto a vertical post, wherein each dispenser includes a flat circular plate that is mounted onto a support bracket secured with a nut; a guide aligned with each dispenser, where each guide is supported within framing between support posts; top stabilizing rods attached to the vertical posts and support posts creating frame support; and a base, where the base is supported on wheels and said base is attached to the vertical posts and support posts. The wire dispenser may be secured to the vertical post by a swing arm with a pin. The support bracket preferably includes a spring-loaded clutch.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a device used to distribute wiring in a construction environment.

Description of Related Art

Many times construction of both residential and commercial buildings requires the installation of electrical wiring. Electrical wiring normally is distributed on large spools and is released from these spools during installation. As a result many times construction workers assemble self-made dispensing devices to help organize the distribution of the wire from the spool. Further when many workers are retrieving wire for installation, it can be cumbersome and time consuming with a number of wiring spools and electrical workers in a confined area. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a device that could effectively and efficiently provide a means to distribute and release electrical wiring in an organized manner.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a rotary spool spinner for wire dispensing that includes: a plurality of wire dispensers, where said wire dispensers are secured onto a vertical post, wherein each dispenser includes a flat circular plate that is mounted onto a support bracket secured with a nut; a guide aligned with each dispenser, where each guide is supported within framing between support posts; top stabilizing rods attached to the vertical posts and support posts creating frame support; and a base, where the base is supported on wheels and said base is attached to the vertical posts and support posts. The wire dispenser may be secured to the vertical post by a swing arm with a pin. The support bracket preferably includes a spring loaded clutch.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a prospective view of a multi-level wire distribution device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The current invention relates to a multi-level wire distribution device. The device according to the present invention essentially consists of rotary plates that receive spools of wiring stacked vertically in a supporting frame. The spools are aligned with guides that allow users to guide wire through the guides while releasing the wire from each individual spool. The rotary plates include support brackets and spring loaded clutches to allow for the recoil of the wiring once cut. Further, the frame may be mounted and stabilized in a stationary position but also includes wheels to easily transport and mobilize the entire assembly.

In reference to FIG. 1, a rotary spool spinner in accordance with the present invention is depicted. The rotary spool spinner in this particular embodiment includes three wire dispensers 30a, 30b, 30c. These dispensers 30a, 30b, 30c are secured onto a vertical post 45 through use of swing arms 32. The swing arms attach to the post 45 by way of a pin 33 as shown at each respective dispenser. Each dispenser 30a, 30b, 30c is a flat circular plate that is mounted onto a support bracket 38 secured with a nut 39. This bracket 38 includes a spring-loaded clutch 35 as shown with each respective dispenser 30a, 30b, 30c. Wire is wrapped around this configuration and dispensed through a guide 20 shown adjacent to each wire dispenser 30a, 30b, 30c. The guides 20 are supported within a framing between support posts 43a, 43b. Top stabilizing rod 42 and stabilizing rods 40a, 40b provide both horizontal and vertical support of the framing. Further stabilizing rods 48a, 48b are used for mounting purposes to secure the device into a stationary position with hinges 47a, 47b. This feature provides a temporarily fixture of the rotary spool spinner in a stationary position.

As further shown this entire assembly is mounted on a base 58 and base 41 shown at the bottom of the device. The base 41 is supported on wheels 44a. Further base 58 is supported on the wheels 56a, 56b. The wire dispenser 30c is supported with a base bar 50 that adjoins to base 58 creating the lower support of the spool spinner. A further feature of the spool spinner relates to a mounting chain 55 that may be used to connect to a cotter pin for the full weight balancing.

During use this particular spool spinner provides a multi-stage wire dispensing device with suitable compartments and a clutch and bearings to allow for the distribution of wiring on each dispenser. Therefore the worker may be able to dispense various types of wires with different gauges on each dispensing level. Although shown a three level configuration the present invention may have multiple or additional dispensing plates provided as needed.
