Claims
- 1. A method of semi-automatic control of a round baler comprising:
selecting between a first and second stop point in a baling process comprising a forming cycle, a wrapping cycle, and an ejecting cycle; automatically controlling the baling process until the selected stop point is reached; waiting at the stop point until an operator signal is received; and automatically controlling the baling process until completion after receiving the restart signal.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the first stop point is between the forming cycle and the wrapping cycle.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the second stop point is between the wrapping cycle and the ejecting cycle.
- 4. In a round baler, the improvement comprising:
a bale forming mechanism; a controller for operating the baler; a wrapping mechanism for wrapping a bale after it has been formed; a wrapper solenoid for actuating the wrapping mechanism in response to a controller signal; a tailgate; a tailgate lifting mechanism for opening and closing the tailgate; and a tailgate solenoid for actuating the tailgate lifting mechanism in response to a controller signal, the controller programmed to actuate the wrapper solenoid when the controller determines the bale is formed if a selectable stop point has not been reached and programmed to actuate the tailgate solenoid when the bale has been wrapped if the selectable stop point has not been reached.
- 5. The round baler of claim 4, the controller being programmed to restart after reaching the selectable stop point when the controller receives an operator signal to continue.
- 6. The round baler of claim 4, the controller being programmed to start the bale forming mechanism in response to an operator signal.
- 7. The round baler of claim 6, the controller being programmed to actuate the tailgate solenoid to close the tailgate and to start the forming mechanism after the tailgate is closed.
- 8. A round baler comprising:
a bale chamber; means for forming a bale; a bale wrapping mechanism; a tailgate; means for opening and closing the tailgate; and a means for controlling the baler programmed to cause the means for wrapping to wrap the bale after the bale is formed if a selectable stop point has not been reached and programmed to cause the tailgate to lift when the bale has been wrapped if the selectable stop point has not been reached.
