Abstract
An exhaust system on a boat can be dangerous if the exhaust is not plumed properly through the boat. If a boat has a tower on it the exhaust can be plumed through it. The tower will be made to accept the exhaust gasses. The tower will still look the same except there will be tips sticking up on each side of the tower where the exhaust will escape.
Description

Jason Bethards a U.S. citizen resides at 4943 Peachtree Cir. Granbury, Tex. 76048. Towers on boats are made out of 4-inch aluminum pipe. This size pipe is big enough to run the exhaust through, that a boat produces. From the motor the exhaust would travel to a muffler were the gas and water can be separated. Then the exhaust will split off so a pipe can travel to the port side and starboard side of the boat. Around the middle of the boat is where the exhaust pipe will come up through the top of the boat. This is where the tower is normally mounted. The tower could be built with two pipes inside one another. When the tower is installed, it will sit on the top of the boat where the exhaust is coming out. This will continue the flow of gasses out the top of the tower. At the top of the tower will be exhaust tips so the exhaust will be able to escape. This will safely keep the exhaust away from people.

SUMMARY

When you start up a boat the exhaust is lingering at the back of the boat. People sitting at the back of a boat have a chance on breathing this piousness gas. If you plumbed the exhaust through the tower on a boat it will rise above you and will not be around to smell. Some boats have towers on them to hang lights or shade covers. Running motor exhaust through the tower of a boat will make it safer for people. Implementing a muffler system into a tower would be a safe way to direct piousness gas out of the boat.

BACKGROUND

Boats exhaust systems are dangerous if people breathe the gasses. If a boat has a tower on it, the exhaust can be plumed through it. The tower will have exhaust tips on each side of the tower where the exhaust can exit. Instead of the exhaust coming out the back of the boat where people like to hang out the exhaust will be pumped out over head so people can't smell it.

DESCRIPTION

One of the dangers of boating is breathing the carbon dioxide from the gas fumes. All boats have the exhaust coming out the back of the boat. When people sit in the back of the boat there is a chance, they will breathe in piousness fumes. If the exhaust is pumped through a tower, it will send the gas higher up so no one can breathe this gas. A boats exhaust can be redirected through a tower on a boat. The exhaust will leave the motor and go into a tank where the water and exhaust can be separated. The exhaust will separate and be routed to the port and starboard side of the boat. Around the center of the boat sides is where most towers are installed. The exhaust will be routed through the tower. The tower will be built with a hollow pipe so the exhaust can travel up and escape the top of the tower. This will keep the exhaust away so people can breathe better.

DESCRIPTION OF PICTURE

    • 1. Exhaust tips, is where the exhaust escapes the boat from the tower.

    • 2. Exhaust pipe, is built into the towers so the gasses can flow through the tower.

    • 3. Exhaust port is on each side of the boat covered up by the tower. Exhaust pipes will be plumed from the motor to the top of the boat so the gasses can vent from the tower.

    • 4. Boat, this system will work on any boat that has a tower.

Claims
  • 1. To safely get the exhaust away from the boat, the exhaust will be routed through the tower of the boat; from the motor the exhaust will go to a tank that separates water and exhaust; the exhaust will go through a muffler where the exhaust will be separated with 2 ports coming out of the muffler; two exhaust ports will be plumbed through the boat on the port side and starboard side where the tower mounts; normally around the center of the boat on the top of the side walls is where the tower mounts; a 3 to 4 inch hole we be cut in the top of the side walls so the exhaust can be further plumbed into the tower; a cover can be installed with a 3 to 4 inch hole in it and screwed to the boat, this will give a place for the tower to sit; a rubber seal will keep gasses from escaping between the cover and the tower; the tower will have a 3 to 4 inch pipe running all the way through the tower to the top, there will be separate pipes on each side tower, this will allow the exhaust to flow freely; The exhaust is built into the tower so the appearance will not change except for the exhaust tips at the top of the tower; the tower would be double walled to keep the tower from getting too hot; at the top of the tower an exhaust tip will protrude from each side of the tower so the exhaust can escape. This will keep the exhaust up high so people cannot smell it
