Claims
- 1. The method of fabricating a torsion spring comprising the steps of molding a cylindrical sleeve of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene having an inner annular surface and molding an annular rubber sleeve having an outer annular surface and an inner annular surface, bonding said inner annular surface of said cylindrical sleeve of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene to said exterior outer surface of said rubber sleeve, curing said ultra high molecular weight polyethylene sleeve and said rubber sleeve simultaneously to place said rubber sleeve in compression, ad thence securing a shaft to said inner annular surface of said rubber sleeve.
- 2. The method of fabricating a torsion spring as set forth in claim 11 wherein said rubber sleeve and said cylindrical sleeve of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene are heated to expand said sleeves and thereafter, said shaft is positioned into said rubber sleeve for connecting to said rubber sleeve upon cooling of said sleeves to return the temperature thereof to ambient temperature.
