Abstract
A safe baby bathtub includes a tub base having a tank formed therein, a warning unit disposed on the tub base, at least one warning device and a temperature sensor disposed inside the tank of the tub base. The temperature sensor has a signal wire connected to the warning unit so that a signal of the water's temperature is transferred from the temperature sensor to the warning unit. The warning device displays the water's temperature.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention


The present invention relates to a bathtub designed for washing babies, and particularly relates to a bathtub designed for washing babies, in which the bathtub has a warning system that displays the temperature of the water in the bath in order to ensure the baby is not placed in excessively hot water and harmed.


2. Background of the Invention


Newborn babies do not sweat very much, however they still dirty themselves due to excretions from their sebaceous glands. To avoid diaper dermatitis, baby bathing is a routine that must be carried out on a daily basis.


For providing comfortable bathing, various baby bathtubs have been designed and are available in the marketplace. With respect to FIG. 1, the conventional baby bathtub 1 disclosed is a container with an opening at a top thereof. The conventional baby bathtub 1 is provided for the purpose of bathing a baby and includes a tank 11 containing water.


When the conventional baby bathtub 1 is filled with running water, the temperature of the bath 1 can only checked by hand. Inaccurate sensing by a person will lead to placing the baby in the bathtub when the water is too hot or too cold. This can result in the baby feeling uncomfortable and even endangering the baby's safety.


SUMMARY OF INVENTION

A safe baby bathtub is provided with a warning device that can display the temperature of the bath water while the bathtub is being filled. Thus the bath water can be maintained at a temperature so that the baby will be comfortable and free from danger during the bathing process.


A safe baby bathtub includes a tub base having a tank formed therein. A warning unit is disposed on the tub base and has at least one warning device. A temperature sensor is disposed inside the tank of the tub base. The temperature sensor has a signal wire connected to the warning unit, so that a signal of the water's temperature is transferred from the temperature sensor to the warning unit, and the warning device displays the water's temperature.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 2, a safe baby bathtub 2 according to the present invention is provided and made of plastic materials. The safe baby bathtub 2 includes a tub base 21, a warning unit 22 and a temperature sensor 23. The tub base 21 is a container with an opening formed at a top thereof for receiving a baby and has a tank 211 formed therein for containing bath water. The warning unit 22 can be disposed on a lateral side of the tub base 21, furthermore, referring FIG. 3, for arrangement of the warning unit 22, the tub base 21 may include an orientation portion 212 arranged on an upper flange thereof, or further including an orientation posts arranged thereon to secure the warning unit 22.


The warning unit 22 is disposed on the orientation portion 212 of the tub base 21 via an adhesive, screwing or clamping manner. The warning unit 22 can receive the signal of the bath water's temperature from the temperature sensor 23, which is disposed under water and senses the water temperature. The warning unit 22 includes a casing 221, a plurality of lighting devices 222 and a printed circuit board 223. The lighting devices 222 and the printed circuit board 223 are disposed inside the casing 221. The printed circuit board 223 is secured in the casing 221 properly and has a generic IC circuit arranged thereon. The lighting devices 222 are electrically connected to the printed circuit board 223. The lighting devices 222 are LEDs or other illumination devices of the like. The quantity of the light devices 222 is not limited. In FIG. 2, the quantity of the lighting devices 222 is three for displaying high, medium and low temperatures respectively. The printed circuit board 223 includes a battery 224 arranged thereon for electrical connection and power supply. The lighting device 222 is exposed out of the casing 221.


The temperature sensor 23 is disposed at a predetermined portion of a bottom of the tank 211 of the tub base 21 via an adhesive or clamping manner. The temperature sensor 23 sends the signal of the bath water temperature and has a signal wire 231 connected to the printed circuit board 223 of the warning unit 22, so that the signal of the bath water's temperature is transferred from the temperature sensor 23 to the warning unit 22.


The warning unit 22 and the temperature sensor 23 are disposed on the baby bathtub 2. When the bathtub 2 is being filled with water, the temperature sensor 23 senses the bath water's temperature. The lighting devices 22 are warning devices that display the bath water's temperature. For example, water of 38˜42° C. is defined as medium temperature, water of over 42° C. is defined as high temperature, and water below 38° C. is defined as low temperature. Therefore, the baby's caregiver can immediately control the bath water's temperature to ensure the baby's comfort and safety.


In addition, the lighting devices 222 can be replaced by at least one voice device 225 in FIG. 4. The voice device 225 can be arranged at a side of the safe baby bathtub 2. The voice device 225 can be a horn or a buzzer that emits sounds of various frequencies.


It should be apparent to those skilled in the art that the above description is only illustrative of specific embodiments and examples of the invention. The invention should therefore cover various modifications and variations made to the herein-described structure and operations of the invention, provided they fall within the scope of the invention as defined in the following appended claims.

Claims
  • 1. A safe baby bathtub, comprising: a tub base having a tank formed therein; a warning unit disposed on the tub base and having at least one warning device; and a temperature sensor disposed inside the tank of the tub base and having a signal wire connected to the warning unit, so that a signal of water temperature is transferred from the temperature sensor to the warning unit, and the warning device displays the water's temperature.
  • 2. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 1, wherein the tub base has an orientation portion arranged on an upper flange thereof and the warning unit is disposed on the orientation portion.
  • 3. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 1, wherein the warning unit has a casing and a printed circuit board, the warning device and the printed circuit board are disposed inside the casing, the warning device electrically connects to the printed circuit board, and the printed circuit board includes a battery arranged thereon for electrical connection.
  • 4. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 3, wherein the warning device is exposed out of the casing.
  • 5. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 1, wherein the warning device includes a lighting device.
  • 6. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 5, wherein the warning device includes three lighting devices that display high, medium and low temperatures.
  • 7. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 1, wherein the warning device includes a voice device.
  • 8. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 7, wherein the voice device displays the bath water's temperature by emitting various sounds.
  • 9. The safe baby bathtub as claimed in claim 1, wherein the temperature sensor is disposed at a bottom of the tank of the tub base.
