Claims
- 1. A grip device, comprising:
(a) at least two opposable digits; (b) a drive linkage configured to enable the two opposable digits to grip; and (c) digit tip pads, attached to the end of each of the digits, configured to allow the grip to more easily hold gripped objects.
- 2. A grip device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the digit tip pads are rotatably connected to the digit and configured to rotatably contact an object being picked which provides better gripping of an object.
- 3. A grip device in accordance with claim 1, wherein the digit tip pads further comprise:
a pouch connected to the end of each digit; and hydrostatic fluid filling the pouch, wherein the hydrostatic fluid allows a better grip on an object being held.
- 4. A grip device having at least two opposable digits, comprising:
(a) a drive linkage configured to drive the two opposable digits; (b) a belt coupled to the drive linkage; (c) a drive motor, coupled to the belt and configured to drive the belt, having a radial motor axis mounted normal to a radial axis of a person's arm; and (d) a mechanical wrist member, upon which the grip device is mounted, wherein the wrist member is contained within a space the size of an average person's hand.
- 5. A grip device in accordance with claim 4, wherein the drive motor is a basket wound high torque to inertia motor with heavy duty graphite/copper composite brushes.
