1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to a gas oven, and more particularly to an innovative one which is designed with a safety control device that enables gas supply to the oven by controlling the oven door.
2. Description of Related Art
Gas oven is operated in such a way that air is heated up by gas combustion, and food is cooked within the oven through convection of hot air. It generally comprises: a main body, oven door, gas heater and electronic controller. In order to prevent scalding by the emitted hot air and guarantee safety of maintenance, the oven door is not allowed to be opened during operation of the oven. Yet, due to absence of safety design of the oven door, the common oven cannot prevent the oven door from being opened randomly.
For this reason, safety design of the oven door has been developed, e.g.: U.S. Pat. No. 4,089,319 “Hot blast type oven”, wherein the gas control and electronic control are interlocked by some valves and electronic/mechanical components, such that gas supply and electronic operation are stopped when the oven door is opened.
Based on the complex safety design of aforementioned US patent, the inventor has developed the present invention through continuous improvement.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a safety control device of gas oven, which is structured in a way to enable gas supply to the oven by controlling the oven door.
The present invention provides a safety control device of gas oven, which is installed onto an oven and connected with a gas pipeline; it comprising: a main body, a hollow holding space and a gas inlet/outlet connected with the holding space; a pipe port is set at the position where the gas inlet is connected with the holding space; the gas inlet is connected with the gas pipeline, while the gas outlet is connected with a burner of oven; a control unit, flexibly set into the holding space, composed of a driving part and an elastic part; one end of the driving part is connected with the oven door, and the other end provided with an enclosed portion correspondingly to the pipe port; one end of the elastic part is connected with the driving part, and the other end abutted onto the inner wall of the main body.
The features of the present invention will be more readily understood upon a thoughtful deliberation of the following detailed description of two preferred embodiments of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings:
Referring firstly to FIGS. 1˜3—a safety control device 10 of the gas oven for a preferred embodiment of the present invention, which comprises a main body 12 and a control unit 14.
The main body 12, which is provided with a body section 22 and a hollow joint 24; the body section 22 is fitted with two lock holes 25 and a hollow holding space 26 as well as a gas inlet 28 and a gas outlet 30 connected with the holding space 26; the gas inlet 28 is connected with one end of the holding space 26, and the gas outlet 30 connected with one side of the holding space 26; moreover, a pipe port 32 is set at the position where the gas inlet 28 is connected with the holding space 26; the joint 24 is locked at the opening of the holding space 26, and a recess 34 is set at one end correspondingly to the holding space 26 for locking of a leakproof component 35.
The control unit 14, comprising of a driving part 36 and an elastic part 38; the driving part 36 is penetrated through the joint 24 and extended to the holding space 26; it's provided with a rod 40, an enclosed portion 42 (which is a seal ring made of elastic material and sleeved onto one end of the rod 40 correspondingly to the pipe port 32), a securing portion 46 (which is a gasket assembly sleeved onto the other end of the rod 40 correspondingly to the recess 34. The elastic part 38 is a spring, which is located between the inner wall of the holding space 26 and the securing portion 46, such that when the rod 40 is not driven, the securing portion 46 is plugged into the recess 34 to connect the gas inlet 28, holding space 26 and gas outlet 30.
Referring to
The operating modes, features and efficacies of the safety control device 10 of the present invention are as follow:
When the oven door 52 is not opened, gas is supplied to the burner of the oven 50 through interconnected gas inlet 28, holding space 26 and gas outlet 30. When the oven door 52 is opened (e.g.: by a kid), the driving part 36 is driven and inserted into the pipe port 32, then the pipe port 32 is sealed by the enclosed portion 42, as shown in
The safety control device 10 of the present invention is set externally onto the oven 50, so the gas supply to the oven 50 can be controlled by opening or closing the oven door 52, making it a satisfactory safety device of the oven 50.
Referring to FIG. 6—a safety control device 60 of the gas oven for another preferred embodiment of the present invention, which differs from the safety control device 10 in the following aspects:
The main body 62 of the safety control device 60 is provided with two gas outlets 66, 68 connected with the holding space 64; the holding space 64 comprises of a first space 70 and a second space 72 of different diameters, at joint of which a stepped portion 74 is formed; these two gas outlets 66, 68 are connected separately with one side of the first space 70 and second space 72; the pipe port 78 at the joint of the holding space 64 and gas inlet 76 is formed at center of a spacer 80; the spacer 80 is a gasket with through-hole; the enclosed portion 84 of the driving part 82 is a block, which is located within the first space 70, with its external diameter bigger than the inner diameter of the pipe port 78 and second space 72; the elastic part 86 is located between the enclosed portion 84 and spacer 80, such that when the driving part 82 is not driven, the enclosed portion 84 is abutted onto the stepped portion 74, and the gas inlet 76 is only connected with the gas outlet 66.
With this design, the safety control device 60 can be placed into the gas stove with a built-in oven (not shown in the figure); and, the gas outlet 66 is connected with the oven's burner, and the gas outlet 68 connected with the head of the gas stove; the exterior of the driving part 82 is abutted onto the oven door and displaced slightly such that enclosed portion 84 is not abutted onto the stepped portion 74.
When the oven door is not opened, the gas inlet 76 and gas outlets 66, 68 are interconnected, so gas is supplied to the oven and gas stove. When the oven door is opened, the driving part 82 is driven such that the pipe port 78 is sealed by the enclosed portion 84; in this way, gas for the gas inlet 76 cannot flow into the holding space 64, thereby stopping the gas supply for the oven and gas stove for safety protection.
To sum up, the gas oven's safety control device of the present invention can be installed at one side of the oven door (or the gas stove with a built-in oven) and connected with the burner of the oven and gas pipeline; this simple construction allows to control gas supply to the oven by the oven door as a safety device of outstanding applicability.
