Claims
- 1. Safety apparel that at least partially filters from the air one or more airborne particles and/or gasses to provide at least some safety to a human and/or non-human from potentially unhealthy and/or undesirable airborne particles and/or gasses, comprising apparel that at least partially includes a filter material.
- 2. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparel includes apparel selected from the group consisting of shirts, blouses, vests, sweaters, undergarments, sweatshirts, jackets, coats, scarfs, head bands, ear muffs, ear and/or neck warmers, handkerchiefs, hats, caps, gloves, neckties, ski masks, mufflers, dresses, socks, pants, purses, or billfolds.
- 3. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a nose of the human and/or non-human.
- 4. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover the eyes of the human and/or non-human.
- 5. The safety apparel as defined in claim 2, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a nose of the human and/or non-human.
- 6. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 7. The safety apparel as defined in claim 3, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 8. The safety apparel as defined in claim 5, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 9. The safety apparel as defined in claim 7, wherein said apparel includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 10. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said filter material filters at least one airborne particle by a mechanism selected from the group consisting of a mechanical mechanism, an electrical mechanism, a chemical mechanism, and combinations thereof.
- 11. The safety apparel as defined in claim 7, wherein said filter material filters at least one airborne particle by a mechanism selected from the group consisting of a mechanical mechanism, an electrical mechanism, a chemical mechanism, and combinations thereof.
- 12. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 20 microns.
- 13. The safety apparel as defined in claim 12, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 10 microns.
- 14. The safety apparel as defined in claim 13, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 5 microns.
- 15. The safety apparel as defined in claim 14, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 2 microns.
- 16. The safety apparel as defined in claim 11, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 2 microns.
- 17. The safety apparel as defined in claim 15, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 1 micron.
- 18. The safety apparel as defined in claim 17, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 0.5 micron.
- 19. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, including at least one visual and/or textural indicator on said apparel to at least partially indicate the location of said filter material on said apparel.
- 20. The safety apparel as defined in claim 16, including at least one visual and/or textural indicator on said apparel to at least partially indicate the location of said filter material on said apparel.
- 21. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said filter material at least partially filters undesired gasses in the air.
- 22. The safety apparel as defined in claim 20, wherein said filter material at least partially filters undesired gasses in the air.
- 23. The safety apparel as defined in claim 1, wherein said filter material is detachably connected to said apparel.
- 24. The safety apparel as defined in claim 22, wherein said filter material is detachably connected to said apparel.
- 25. A safety non-apparel item that at least partially filters from the air one or more airborne particles to provide at least some safety to a human and/or non-human from potentially unhealthy and/or undesirable airborne particles, comprising a non-apparel item that at least partially includes filter material.
- 26. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said non-apparel item includes non-apparel selected from the group consisting of blankets, throws, quilts, sheets, pillow cases, bed skirts, mattress pads, mattress covers, pillows, towels, wash cloths, curtains, blinds, window shades, rugs, cloths, placemats, napkins, table cloths, coasters, rags, sponges, hot pads, valances, drapes, and armchair covers.
- 27. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a nose of the human and/or non-human.
- 28. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 26, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a nose of the human and/or non-human.
- 29. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 30. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 28, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 31. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover the eyes of the human and/or non-human.
- 32. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 28, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover the eyes of the human and/or non-human.
- 33. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 30, wherein said non-apparel item includes a sufficient region of filter material to enable the human and/or non-human to at least partially cover a mouth of the human and/or non-human.
- 34. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said filter material filters at least one airborne particle by a mechanism selected from the group consisting of a mechanical mechanism, an electrical mechanism, a chemical mechanism, and combinations thereof.
- 35. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 30, wherein said filter material filters at least one airborne particle by a mechanism selected from the group consisting of a mechanical mechanism, an electrical mechanism, a chemical mechanism, and combinations thereof.
- 36. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 25, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 20 microns.
- 37. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 36, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 10 microns.

- 41. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 39, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 1 micron.
- 42. The safety non-apparel item as defined in claim 41, wherein said filter material filters a majority of airborne particles having a particle size of at least about 0.5 micron.
