1. Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to a sandblasting device.
2. Description of Related Art
A sandblasting device is used for cleaning or etching a surface of a workpiece by spraying abrasive particles onto the surface of the workpiece at high speed. The sandblasting device typically includes a container for containing the abrasive particles and a handheld nozzle connected to the container for spraying the abrasive particles onto the workpiece. However, the handheld nozzle can only spay the abrasive particles in a single direction, thus the efficiency of the sandblasting device may be low.
What is needed therefore, is a sandblasting device addressing the above-mentioned problems.
The FIGURE is a schematic view of a sandblasting device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure.
Referring to the FIGURE, a sandblasting device 100, according to an exemplary embodiment, is shown. The sandblasting device 100 includes a sandblasting apparatus 10 and a sandblasting chamber 20.
The sandblasting apparatus 10 includes a container 11, a tube 12, and a spray head 13. The container 11 is configured for containing abrasive particles (not shown). One end of the tube 11 is connected to the container 10, and the other end of the tube 11 is connected to the spray head 13. The tube 12 is configured for guiding the abrasive particles to the spray head 13. The spray head 13 is substantially a hollow sphere. The spray head 13 defines an inlet hole 131 and a number of outlet holes 132. The tube 12 is connected to the inlet hole 131 of the spray head 13, thus the container 11 can communicate with the inner space of the spray head 13 via the tube 12. The outlet holes 132 are configured for spraying the abrasive particles out of the spray head 13. The outlet holes 132 are uniformly defined in the surface of the spray head 13. In this embodiment, the spray head 13 further includes a number of tubular nozzles 133 coupled to the outlet holes 132, the nozzles 133 extends radially from the spray head 13. The nozzle 133 can enhance the original speed of the abrasive particles.
The sandblasting chamber 20 is configured for providing an environment for sandblasting. The sandblasting chamber 20 is substantially shaped as an enclosed box. The sandblasting chamber 20 includes a number of sidewalls 21. The spray head 13 is received in the sandblasting chamber 20; the container 11 is located outside the sandblasting chamber 20. The tube 12 passes through a sidewall 21 of the sandblasting chamber 20 to interconnect the spray head 13 and the container 11. Alternatively, both the spray head 13 and the container 11 can be received in the sandblasting chamber 20. The inner space of the sandblasting chamber 11 can be pumped to create a vacuum with a pumping device (not shown).
The sandblasting device 100 further includes a driving apparatus 30 for driving the spray head 13 to rotate or move. The driving apparatus 30 includes a movable base 32 and a support bar 31. One end of the support bar 31 is rotatably connected to the movable base 32, and the other end of the support bar 31 is connected to the spray head 13. The movable base 32 includes a number of wheels 33 at a bottom thereof, thus the movable base 32 can be moved in the sandblasting chamber 20 with the wheels 33. A motor (not shown) can respectively drive the movable base 32 and the support bar 31.
In use, a number of workpieces 200 are fixed on the inner surface of the sidewalls 21 of the sandblasting chamber 20. The inner space of the sandblasting chamber 20 is pumped to create a vacuum, thus the abrasive particles in the container 11 are pumped into the spray head 13 under negative pressure and then sprayed out of the spray head 13 through the outlet holes 132 and the nozzles 133. Because the outlet holes 132 and the nozzles 133 are toward different directions, thus the abrasive particles can be sprayed on the workpieces 200 from different directions. Therefore, the sandblasting device 100 can process a number of work pieces 200 at the same time, and the sandblasting efficiency of the sandblasting device is enhanced. During the sandblasting process, the spray head 13 can be moved and/or rotated by the movable base 32 and the support bar 31, to uniformly sandblast the workpieces 200.
It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and it will be apparent that various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure or sacrificing all of its material advantages, the examples hereinbefore described merely being preferred or exemplary embodiments of the disclosure.
