- 8. The sander of claim 3 where the platen is elongate and the abrasive sheet extends along the length of the platen, and further comprising a conveyor adjacent the platen to convey products to be sanded in a feed direction toward the platen while the platen moves, and where the elongate platen is positioned substantially across the conveyor.
- 9. The sander of claim 3 where the first drive mechanism moves the platen in the first motion at a first speed, and where the second drive mechanism moves the platen in the second motion at a second speed less than the first speed.
- 10. The sander of claim 3 where the first motion is translational.
- 11. The sander of claim 3 where the first motion is a translational orbit.
- 12. The sander of claim 3 where the second motion is translational.
- 13. The sander of claim 3 where the second motion is a translational orbit.
- 14. The sander of claim 3 where both the first and second motions are translational.
- 15. The sander of claim 3 where both the first and second motions are translational orbits.
- 16. The sander of claim 3 further comprising at least one yieldably resilient stabilizer extending between the platen and subframe to maintain the stability of the platen while it moves.
- 17. A sander comprising:
- a frame,
- a subframe,
- a platen,
- an abrasive sheet,
