2. Description of the Related Art
Everyone has a birthday every year, and the common custom of blowing out candles on a birthday cake and making a wish remains strong. However, your cake, whether bought from a supermarket or made at a bakery or at home, requires that the candles be stuck directly therein. After you blow out the candles, and pull the candles out of the cake, divots are left that ruin the cake's appearance. But, that's not the most important problem. Who wants to eat a cake with live bacteria and germs sprayed thereon? In addition, everyone who has been to a child's birthday party knows that there is always the curious finger or two dipped into the frosting. The current invention seeks to eliminate these problems entirely.

This invention is a sanitary birthday covering and candle system for use with a birthday cake, having a sanitary cover, a plurality of candles and a serving tray. The cover includes a top surface and at least one side, wherein the side is integrally connected to the top surface and has a distal end having a fastening lip. The top surface has a plurality of star shaped indentations recessed therein, each one indentation having a bottom surface and at least one upwardly extending infinitely circular wall. The candles have a substantially cylindrical top portion and a substantially star shaped bottom portion. The serving tray has a recessed groove for removably coupling with the fastening lip.
To the accomplishment of the above and related objects the invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Attention is called to the fact, however, that the drawings are illustrative only. Variations are contemplated as being part of the invention, limited only by the scope of the claims.
In the drawings, like elements are depicted by like reference numerals. The drawings are briefly described as follows.
The sanitary covers 12 include at least one side 14 integrally connected to a top surface 16. The sides 14 have a distal end 17 which includes a fastening lip 18. Preferably, the fastening lip 18 is compatible with a plurality of different serving trays 11 and platters for removably coupling therewith and thereby entirely encompassing contents that are served on said tray 11 and covered by said sanitary cover 12 like a birthday cake, for optimum storage and sanitation. The serving tray 11 is available in a variety of different shapes and sizes for appropriately corresponding with said cover 12. Each tray 11 includes a recessed groove 13 for accepting the fastening lip 18 of the sanitary cover 12 therein.
The top surface 16 of each sanitary cover 12 includes a plurality of indentations 20. Preferably each indentation 20 is recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16. Each indentation 20 includes a bottom surface 22 and at least one upwardly extending wall 24. The system 10 includes a plurality of customized candles 30 used therewith. The candle 30 is positionable within the indentation 20, such that the candle 30 rests against the bottom surface 22 and is prohibited from moving or tilting by the upwardly extending wall 24.
In the preferred embodiment, the plurality of indentations 20 are star shaped indentations 20A, see
In a second embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in
In a third embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in
In conclusion, herein is presented sanitary birthday cake cover and candle system. The invention is illustrated by example in the drawing figures, and throughout the written description. It should be understood that numerous variations are possible, while adhering to the inventive concept. Such variations are contemplated as being a part of the present invention.
