A sanitary mask for which a design right is sought includes a mask body for covering the nose and the mouth of the wearer, and a pair of ear straps joined to the side edges of the mask body; each of the straps includes an upper gathered part having one end connected to an upper end of a side edge of the mask body and extending in the width direction of the mask body, a lower gathered part having one end connected to a lower end of the corresponding side edge of the mask body and extending in the width direction of the mask body, and a connecting part connecting the other end of the upper gathered part with the other end of the lower gathered part; in an unused state of the mask, the one ear strap and the other ear strap are joined together at the width center of the mask body; in a used state of the mask, the one ear strap and the other ear strap are separated from each other at the width center of the mask body and folded to the outside in the width direction of the mask body; fig. 1.9is a front view in reduced size showing the ear straps in open position.
