Claims
- 1. A saw comprising:
a base for supporting a workpiece; a supporting member for supporting the base above the ground, with the base being pivotally attached to the supporting member, wherein the base can be tilted as well as the workpiece relative to the ground; a blade holder pivotally mounted on the base; a blade rotationally attached to the blade holder, with the base comprising a first side, a second side opposite to the first side, and a third side between the first side and the second side, with the supporting member being a substantially U-shaped member having two limbs and an intermediate section, with the supporting member surrounding the first side, the second side, and the third side of the base, wherein each of the first side and the second side of the base comprises a circular mounting portion on an end thereof; a fixing member for each said limb, with each said fixing member comprising a first end pivotally connected to the circular mounting portion of an associated one of the first side and the second side of the base, each said fixing member further comprising a second end for holding an associated one of the limbs; and an elastic element mounted to each said circular mounting portion, each said elastic element comprising a coil portion around the associated circular mounting portion, a first end attached to the base, and a second end attached to the associated limb.
- 2. The saw as claimed in claim 1, wherein the workbench comprises a clamping device mounted thereon for clamping the workpiece.
- 3. The saw as claimed in claim 2, wherein the second end of each said fixing member is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 4. The saw as claimed in claim 3, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 5. The saw as claimed in claim 1, with each said circular mounting portion having a screw hole, with the first end of each said fixing member having a hole, with the saw further comprising two bolts each extending through the hole of each said fixing member and the screw hole of an associated one of the circular mounting portions for pivotally connecting the first end of one of the fixing members with the base.
- 6. The saw as claimed in claim 5, wherein the second end of each said fixing member is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 7. The saw as claimed in claim 6, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 8. The saw as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the first side and the second side of the base comprises a second screw hole in another end thereof, further comprising two guide plates respectively mounted to the first side and the second side of the base, each said guide plate comprising a first portion having a slot and a second portion for holding the second section of the associated limb, further comprising two locking members respectively mounted to the first side and the second side of the base, each said locking member comprising a threaded stem extending therefrom, each said threaded stem being extended through the slot of an associated one of the guide plates into the screw hole in an associated one of the second screw holes of the base, each said locking member being slidable in the slot of the associated guide plate when the locking member does not press against the associated guide plate, thereby allowing pivotal movement of the base relative to the supporting member, each said locking member being locked in place when the locking member presses against the associated guide plate, thereby locking the base in place relative to the supporting member.
- 9. The saw as claimed in claim 8, wherein the second end of each said fixing member is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 10. The saw as claimed in claim 9, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 11. The saw as claimed in claim 8, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 12. A saw comprising:
a base; a supporting member for supporting the base above ground, with the base being pivotally attached to the supporting member; a blade holder pivotally mounted on the base; a blade rotationally attached to the blade holder, with the base comprising a first side, a second side opposite to the first side, and a third side between the first side and the second side, with the supporting member being a substantially U-shaped member having two limbs and an intermediate section, with the supporting member surrounding the first side, the second side, and the third side of the base; a fixing member for each said limb, with each said fixing member comprising a first end pivotally connected to an associated one of the first side and the second side of the base, with each said fixing member further comprising a second end for holding an associated one of the limbs, wherein each of the first side and the second side of the base comprises a screw hole in an end thereof; two guide plates respectively mounted to the first side and the second side of the base, with each said guide plate comprising a first portion having a slot and a second portion for holding the associated one of the limbs; and two locking members respectively mounted to the first side and the second side of the base, with each said locking member comprising a threaded stem extending therefrom, each said threaded stem being extended through the slot of an associated one of the guide plates into the screw hole in an associated one of the screw holes of the base, each said locking member being slidable in the slot of the associated guide plate when the locking member does not press against the associated guide plate, thereby allowing pivotal movement of the base relative to the supporting member, each said locking member being locked in place when the locking member presses against the associated guide plate, thereby locking the base in place relative to the supporting member.
- 13. The saw as claimed in claim 12, wherein the second end of each said fixing member is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 14. The saw as claimed in claim 13, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 15. The saw as claimed in claim 12, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 16. A saw comprising:
a base; a supporting member for supporting the base above ground, with the base being pivotally attached to the supporting member; a blade holder pivotally mounted on the base; a blade rotationally attached to the blade holder, with the base comprising a first side, a second side opposite to the first side, and a third side between the first side and the second side, with the supporting member being a substantially U-shaped member having two limbs and an intermediate section, with the supporting member surrounding the first side, the second side, and the third side of the base; and a fixing member for each said limb, with each said fixing member comprising a first end pivotally connected to an associated one of the first side and the second side of the base, each said fixing member further comprising a second end for holding an associated one of the limbs, wherein the second end of each said fixing member is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
- 17. The saw as claimed in claim 9, wherein the second portion of each said guide plate is an arcuate hook for receiving and holding the associated one of the limbs.
