Claims
- 1. A push pin picture mount adapted to be mounted by means of pins to the back of a picture and to engage a wall fastening device for holding the picture to a wall, said picture mount comprising an elongated support member having first and second opposite sides joined by first and second opposite edges, a projection on each end of said member extending from said first side, a pin having a first end embedded in said member at each end and a sharpened and extending from the respective projection in a direction away from said first side, whereby said sharpened ends may be inserted in a picture with said projections holding said member spaced from the frame of said picture, the ends of said projections away from said member defining a first plane, the portion of said first side adjacent said first edge lying in a second plane at an acute angle to said first plane, with the distance between said first and second planes increasing away from said first edge, said first edge having a sawtooth shape, with transverse lines across said first edge being at a determined acute angle with respect to said first plane.
- 2. The picture mount of claim 1 wherein said transverse lines across said first edge are normal to said second plane.
- 3. A hanger adapted for suspending articles having a planar rear surface on a wall by means of a nail or the like extending into the wall; said hanger comprising first and second spaced-apart mounting projections each having a flat end extending in a first plane, whereby said projections extend in the same direction from said plane, a bar extending between said projections and having a first side spaced from and facing said first plane and a first edge adjoining said first side, the portion of said first side adjoining said first edge extending in a second plane at an acute angle to said first plane whereby said first side is closer to said first plane at said first edge than in regions thereof in said portion away from said first edge, said first edge being beveled and having a saw tooth-shaped cross section, and means for mounting said projections to said planar surface.
- 4. The hanger of claim 3 wherein said means for mounting comprises a separate pin for each of said projections, said pins having blunt ends completely embedded in their respective projections and pointed ends extending from said flat ends and substantially normal to said flat ends.
- 5. The hanger of claim 3 wherein said bevel extends in a direction perpendicular to the major dimension of said bar at an acute angle to said first plane.
- 6. The hanger of claim 5 wherein said bevel is normal to said second plane.
- 7. A hanger adapted for suspending articles having a planar rear surface on a wall by means of a nail or the like extending into the wall; said hanger comprising first and second spaced-apart mounting projections each having a flat end extending in a first plane, whereby said projections extend in the same direction from said plane, a bar extending between said projections and having a first side spaced from and facing said first plane and a first edge adjoining said first side, the portion of said first side adjoining said first edge extending in a second plane at an acute angle to said first plane whereby said first side is closer to said first plane at said first edge than in regions thereof in said portions away from said first edge, said first edge having a saw tooth-shaped cross section, said projections being elongated in a direction normal to the major dimension of said bar and parallel to said first plane, and means for mounting said projections to said planar surface.
