SBIR Phase I: Novel Labeling Method for Multicolor Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) Probes

This Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I project aims to develop a novel labeling method for multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) probes that will shorten hybridization time and increase assay sensitivity.

The high degree of specificity and accuracy, and the ability to generate rapid results have made FISH the method of choice for identifying chromosomal abnormalities, genetic disease and certain cancers. The proposed labeling method will shorted the hybridization time making FISH analysis more rapid and cost effective without losing the sensitivity required for accurate chromosomal determination.
