SBIR Phase II: Real Time Spectrogram Inversion for Ultrashort Laser Pulse Measurement

Southwest Sciences Inc. will develop a Femtosecond (10-15 s) Oscilloscope which will be particularly valuable in the ultrafast laser science and engineering community. The oscilloscope under development will continuously measure the intensity and phase of ultrashort laser pulses at a rate of 10 Hz, and the dynamic range of the instrument will exceed 50 dB. This characterization tool will be invaluable in science and engineering research activities such as in the exploration of : kinetics in proteins; carrier relaxation in semiconductor materials; imaging through turbid media; and coherently controlled chemical reactions.
